Oh, no, mods shouldn't HAVE to be demoted for inactivity, they should realize they can't live up to what's expected of them and step down with dignity. If they don't, however... demote them. Simple.

    Also, TimePlaysGames
Is this kinda argument that you were talking about? xD

Okay so you are saying that if you cannot do your job because life happens that you should just quit.

Like when I had my back surgery... I should have just quit my job.. because I couldn't fulfill my duties there. Even though the managers were aware of it and were okay with it.

Cyp is the ultimate decider if things are not okay.

We need to get a hold of that part and learn and love it.

    This argument is pointless.
The most we can do is ask Cyp to be tougher on inactivity. But Cyp is quite understanding in that respect. If we need a break, if we have something going on he excuses us not being as active. But thats not to say he can be fooled.
As for the staff team teaching bad habits let me just say this:
Since you left you have no idea the amount of effort that has gone in to try and tutor the staff. But we don't have a position that is between smod and admin to shape our team. In fact it is the smods duty to do this but its not part of our "job description". We do it because we want our staff to not take crap and to mod as fairly as possible. We want tmods to succeed. We are mentoring our staff and encourage some freedom to develop a style that suits them and is within the boundaries, also which are being worked on.
Whether you realise it or not the recent promotions have been a god send. We have a full team again, its motivated staff to work harder and has brought more life into the team.
So unless you are in the staff team you have no idea how much or little things have changed and are in no position to make statements unless you can back it up with significant and detailed proof.

As for the irl excuse. I used to hate it. I thought it was bullcrap until I feel under the pressures of moderating and studying and resigned for a full break. Remember majority of the mods are school aged and schooling is important for most of them. Others have extra curricular activities and older mods who have work and things in life. Some of the mods are without a PC and others have problems with health. Irl may be an excuse you think is too common and a cop out, but you dont notice its not until you have needed to use it yourself. We are playing a video game in the end, irl is more important and there is no other argument that can say its not. No mod should be forced to step down because of a little inactivity, there are now plenty of mods to help out.
Team is great, Cyp promoting more mods was great and Im glad the team is full again. Makes it more pleasurable to come online.

This was really well put Krissy, I'd just like to say all of the super mods are doing their best to give the new staff advice and train them. I can tell you each super mod has personally interacted with me multiple times to point out what I'm doing wrong, and to give me advice on what to do in certain situations. Even the full mods and more experienced t-mods have been helping the new staff out. I wouldn't worried about any of the new t-mods not learning properly, because I am already learning a lot from the more experienced mods who are taking the time to teach us.

Real life jobs are different. You depend on those to live and the government supports you while you're injured.

This server needs to be moderated. People get no benefit out of moderating. If you don't have time for the position, resign.

I was on staff. I resigned because I was no longer needed on the staff team.
But, you know, my opinion doesn't count. When has it ever?

I agreed with you until the last part. Your entire rant in my opinion proves the opposite. "IRL issues" IS a legitimate reason to resign.

    So you should.
    Bye.

I don't see why mods stick around if they're inactive for soo long. A month for a specific reason like camp or something is fine, but if it's conflicting with a steady job, then you should leave for your own sake and the server's.

If you notice she said that if you are not on the staff as of now, then you wont understand what is going on.

Hence your opinion does not count in this because you are not on staff right now.

So she's basically just saying "You're wrong, you can't possibly be right, so don't try"? That's a terrible argument and is why I hate arguing on threads like these. The self-important people run rampant while the voices of reason are silenced by "YOU DON'T KNOW MY STRUGGLE WAAAAAAAA"

    I'm out. Pece.

I am not saying you shouldn't try, but you are trying to argue about staff needing to step down because they are inactive. LIFE HAPPENS. It happens to us all. If you really don't like the way staff is run on here then don't talk about them, or to them, or anything. Just play a pixelated game that will have no outcome in your real life job.
