If you get that reference in the title, I love you. Hi, I'm Lycel. I'm not new to the community. Obviously. I thought I'd make this thread as my 3,000th post, as well as on my anniversary of being promoted. It's been a crazy year. Holy crap. I've made a few intros before, probably about 4 proper ones over my 1 and a half years of being here, so some of you may already know a lot about me. I've never made a personal intro about my personal life, because frankly it's not that interesting. I probably won't include too much about my personal life in this intro either, but I'll make an effort. First, let’s talk about Skyblock. I joined Skyblock.net on April the 24th. I was your average greenie who was desperate for some Skyblock friends. For the first week or so, I was pretty lonely, but Adrian introduced me to teamspeak. I quickly made some donor pals there, notably Noveh 33, Demie, Dew and Pinky. After that, I really felt the vibe of Skyblock. The care that the community gave. And from then, I was hooked. The reason I had gone on teamspeak to start with, was to learn what permissions a Moderator would receive. Little power hungry Lycel wanted mod, and at the time, I didn't know hardly what it meant to get mod, how hard it would be, and the dedication it required. I created an application soon after, which was dreadful, and thankfully, is no longer accessible. A few months after that, and I got Donor50. So as I went on teamspeak more, I met some other nubs like Skyttles and Shark. I had been applying for mod for about 4 months or so, and an infamous incident occurred, involving certain illegal items. It was between Kuraii, Shark, Demon, and Dewmellon. I'm fairly certain those people and others close to them will know what I'm talking about. I decided Skyblock was a bit too much for me at the time, and so I locked my application and quit for about 3 months. 3 months later, I hopped back onto teamspeak to be greeted with some familiar faces, such as Skyttles (who was now a tmod, one of the most active people at the time), Dewmellon (who was recently demoted {the first time}), and a few others like Pinky and Demon. I opened back up my application. The people who were getting on teamspeak had changed a bit, I saw a lot of people I didn't know. Contrary to when I had started the server, where I actively joined channels with the most people in them, I was more likely at this time to speak to one or two people at a time or just sit in my own channel playing music. This was almost the opposite of my real life at the time, because while I didn't have many friends irl when I joined the server, when I re-joined I had made a close group of friends. I got on the server a lot during this time. I became friends with Krissy, who I knew before my break, but not too well, and she had also been recently demoted. A few months later, I was promoted to trial mod. I can't explain the buzz I felt that day. I had been promoted on Krissy's recommendation, at the same time she was re-promoted to a full mod. After 3 action packed months, Krissy and I were both promoted to smod and full mod respectively. Nothing could stop me, I was going to keep going as long as I could. Except my own stupidity apparently. I was rude to Cyp. Yeah, it was stupid. It was trivial of me to say what I did. But it’s in the past, and if it was all part of leading me to where I am today, sobeit. I’m so happy to be a mod, and promoted only 3 months after I was demoted. I’m so glad. I plan to be part of the staff team as long as I can. So, I guess that’s my Skyblock story. It’s been a long journey, but I’ve been happy to take it. In terms of my personal life, there’s not much to tell. I live in South Australia, in the +10:30 time zone. We might be moving to +11:00 soon, and that would make me sad because I want don’t want to be classed with those gross east coasters. Heh. I’m in year 10 at school, I play piano, ukulele, tenor horn, and voice. I love art and drawing. I plan on going to university and studying an area in the sciences, but I’m not sure which yet. I plan on getting a PhD and finding a job in a University as a lecturer. What did I tell you? My life isn’t very exciting. I suppose I almost died a few times by poisoning myself when I was little (via Panadol overdose (headache medicine), eating firelighters, and deadly seeds which totally looked like lollies. I’m not suicidal, I was just a very curious child. I’m fairly smart but my downfall is my laziness. I guess I won’t go anywhere if I don’t use my intelligence, but I’m planning on working very hard in year 11, so hopefully I’ll get into some better habits. I love cats, the colour cyan, dark red, grey and black being the other colours I usually wear. My favourite TV shows are The Big Bang Theory, the old seasons of Dr. Who (not Matt Smith or that new guy, or anything to do with Rose), How I Met Your Mother, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, and a few others. My favourite movies are all the Studio Ghibli ones, as well as a handful of Marvel and animated films. I spend most of my time on the internet, either totally legally streaming movies, anime and TV shows, surfing youtube (my favourite Youtubers are the Yogscast (Sips , Lewis, Simon, Sjin, Duncan etc), Dan and Phil, Cinema sins and some animators), on Skyblock, and playing games (usually Terraria, Oblivion, Skyrim, Ori, Minecraft, or some others). TLR Skyblock - played for few months, met friends, applied for mod for 4 months, got hectic, took a break. Came back after 3 month break, applied for mod again a an became trial after a few, became smod shortly after. Lycel is now happy with skyblock life. Life - very talented with instruments, lazy but smart, curious and silly. Lycel wants to get somewhere in life as a lecturer in a university after gaining a PhD. Nice story
