I believe that red sand was once illegal to trade and then made legal. I've been told by mods that it is currently legal to trade but given that regular sand can easily be converted into red sand as per the video attached it might pay to make it illegal again?

Maybe you should private staff only the video, once people see it they might get the idea to abuse this.. Moving on, it's sold at /warp donor, so not only if we make this illegal to sell, we might have to stop selling it, since what this is, is basically duping in a way, because people can illegally do this for their own use.

On the other hand, if it's illegal, it'll probably have to be taken away from everyone who has it, which in my opinion might take a long time. Also, it's a great building material, I've seen this been recently been used by Noc and red sand looks really good with the build. Moving on topic, considering sand for non-donors is hard to get unless they have a donator co-op, if they don't, this is the only way they can really get it legally.

This is debatable, I'm not siding with either.

 

I'd hate to see red sand removed from the game. I think if it's just made illegal to trade but still obtainable from warp donor it won't be sourced through island farming.
Also as galaxy pointed out I maybe shouldn't have posted this here and put the idea out there so I'm happy to have it removed. The powers that be have it in hand now.

 

I think red sand is legal to trade at the moment, although it keeps switching between legal and illegal

I'm pretty sure you can buy sand at warp grass now anyway

 

i don't know if it's possible but if sand could be removed from starter islands and bought at warp grass then new players only need to vote and they have their sand. No real loss to anyone other than one days votes.

I'm certain I brought a stack from normal sand for 8 grass per however much sand it was o:

 

The reason why regular sand trade is illegal is because it's a starter item when you first type /newisland.
Red Sand is not a starter item, so there for it's legal to trade, and should remain legal.

 

If there is a way to convert regular sand to red sand then it should be illegal to trade but remain at /warp donor. Support.

 

Okay. With these, if you were to move normal sand to /warp grass, donors would loose their advantage in a way because right now only a donor can get sand in kits.

As for the conversion, if it's there, I don't see why it would be legal to trade. This could be changed by moving it from /warp donor to a donor kit. That would make it like normal sand, and therefor, fix that issue if it is really needed. Changing these few things shouldn't be really hard, so I think if it is a real issue, just make it a kit item, and make it illegal to drop like normal sand :T

 

I didn't say anything about normal sand being at /warp grass, and I don't think having red sand in a kit versus at /warp donor matters much.

 

The normal sand was the quote for Chibi, and as for the red sand, I guess that would be okay where it is, but adding it as a kit item could work too. Either way, disabling the dropping of red sand isn't a bad idea just because it is a simple fix to it.

 

Agreed. Also if it were kit I would get more because I generally don't buy things at the shops. xD

 

However, red sand can be converted into normal sand or the other way around. Therefore, if you have the converter, you can buy as much red sand as you want, then convert it into normal sand, and don't get banned for it.
