I have decided to create a revised edition of an old thread I created. Essentially this is what you need to know about accepting coops and now includes /trust warning too. Coop Warning Remember coops are join at your own risk, invite at your own risk Note from the Admin "In most cases if coop members accuse each other of stealing or griefing, they will be asked to work it out among themselves. Only in extreme cases will a coop member be banned for griefing their own island. An example of this would be if someone joins a coop just to destroy everything, then joins another coop and destroys everything.... multiple times." Current Coop Bugs There are a few bugs that you should know regarding coops. You cannot kick a coop member unless they are online You cannot use /coop unless you are the leader of the coop or the leader is online You cannot use the /changeleader command Sometimes you will get an internal server error trying to join a coop. You can simply get reinvited and it should work. What you should know about Coops Firstly you lose the island you worked on before doing /coop accept unless you were in a coop before joining another one. You may only have /home on one island. If you are inviting someone to join they will, without punishment, be able to destroy and place blocks as that becomes their island too. Logically it follows that one cannot grief their own island. Mods cannot refund you if you accidentally join a coop and lose your own island, so if you get a request its easier to let it time out than accidentally typing /coop accept (This has happened before). Mods cannot take you back to your island easily if the leader kicked you If your coop leader becomes inactive it becomes very hard to change leaders. You will not lose your armour what you were wearing as a /hat, enderchest or balance (/bal on org only) If you leave your coop, the next person in the list of /coop will most likely get ownership What you should know about /trust /trust allows people who are not officially part of your coop to build and modify your island. When trusted, members can also access all unprivated chests, can die on your island, and of course break and place blocks. Mods may not be able to recover your island after a trust grief, nor apply a harsh punishment on the player as it was YOUR responsibility. Tips and Warnings Only invite people to a coop if you trust them. Only /trust people you really trust Mods cannot kick people from your coop, change your leader or modify biomes. The admin does not modify coops for people. Lock all chests you don't want a coop or trusted member to access. If you are in a coop and don't want a lock broken by an owner that may have kicked you to gain your items, simply right click on the lockette once placed. Type in /lockette 3 or /lockette 4 (Do not Break) Therefore mods must ask permission from you to unlock the chest. There have been cases where people have moved all their items and than kicked from a coop. When joining a coop place all rares in your enderchest and move insignificant items in chests before accepting. Islands cannot be restored if you /coop accept. Check your trust list regularly to make sure there are no unwanted people on the list. This could save you in the long run from drama. When starting up a coop or joining one, consider how active the coop members or leader is, and also consider their timezone. Make sure you have outside communication with them too. You are able to die on an island if you are trusted. So beware if you do not have god mode or have it turned off. Store all valuables safely out of your inventory. If I am missing any points or an unusual event you would like to warn people about happened to you, do share. Thanks for reading~
the only thing I'm confused about is: Let's say someone you really trust is invited. But it turns out they decide to grief you. But now that there's logblock, will you still be refunded?
If that person only griefs you, it is taken as your responsibility and the likelihood of rollback/refund low. If they are joining just to grief and they do significant damage then refund is more likely. At this point only admins can rollback so we don't have a definite answer.
Thanks for the information... Perhaps someone can list the commands for both leaders and members of a coop. I have searched to find the info myself and am unable to find any details. Thanks in advance PJsDad1947 aka Hal
/coop - See whos in your coop (if you are leader) /coop invite [player] - Invite a player (leader) /coop kick [player] - kick a player from coop (if they are online)(Leader) /changeleader - to change a leader (not functioning) /coop leave - leaves your coop (lose inventory)
