Introduction​

Hello there! My name is Marrena but my nickname is Nena. I have been playing Skyblock for almost half of a year now and I wanted to apply for staff. In general, I've been playing Minecraft for 4-5 years since 1.2.5. I would also like to add that I am currently 12 years of age. Just because I'm young, doesn't mean I can't moderate. If you care about age, leave, because it doesn't matter.

In-Game Name​

My In-Game Name is Nenaa. It used to be KasumaIzzigawa but I got permission from my brother to change it. Yes, it is my brother's account. But, he doesn't play Minecraft anymore so he "gave" it to me.

Timezone​

I live in Wichita, Kansas. That means I live in the Central Time Zone. UTC (6:00)

What languages do you speak?​

I speak English fluently. My family is Cambodian/Khmer so I can speak a few words here and there in the language. I plan to learn French and Japanese soon because I love Japan and France sounds really interesting.

Have you been banned before? (If yes, why?)​

Yes, I have been banned on forums before, but this was requested. I requested a 1 week ban to get away from forums because of stress. I am fine now, but I don't think this counts as a ban. :I

Why do you think you should be a Moderator?​

We all have low chances of becoming moderator, so we shouldn't have to. I want to be a part of the staff team because being accepted is usually a problem we all have. There's no such thing has "perfect" so we try to impress others. To connect to real life, I'm not that always nice sometimes. I'm usually by myself, being antisocial. If I get accepted, it would be a big change for me, increasing self confidence. I usually only play for the fun of the server, but now I feel like I need to help. This will probably be the only chance I can forget about reality and be social for once.

Now here are my qualifications that I think I do have.
*Helpful: I make sure people are doing what they're supposed to be doing. I stop people who think trading dirt, sand, and etc is legal. I help people out with their problems and what they need since I can provide some simple supplies for them.

*Mature: Now, most people may not agree because of my age. I honestly disagree with that point. The reason why is I've seen many young kids do the right thing and have common sense. I think I have that, and if I seem like I don't, just tell me and I'll work on it. I've changed my sense of humor to a low rate because I felt very childish before and that made me realize why I'm not very nice to be around.

*Trusted: I don't ban people out of no where. Would you like it if a teacher gave you a detention for no reason? No, you wouldn't. I'm not those kind of people. I only ban/mute/kick people if they're A. breaking rules Acceptable Hacks/Cheats | Skyblock Forums B. continuing to have bad behavior OR C. doing something completely ILLEGAL (such as lying to staff). I can keep classified information really well because being nosy is annoying in my perspective.

*Loyal: I want to treat others as they would treat me. The last thing you want is non-supportive friends and family. If that happened, I will have a chat with them, explaining how I can improve, how I can be a better human.

*Respectful: I respect every person I meet at school or in-game. I don't ignore people if they need help because that would be rude. I only ignore constant spammers or people who are being rude themselves. I like to greet people who message me, and everyone in chat when I come online. I don't like to be mean, but that is ironic as I naturally am. I have a "dark" personality. For example, I like gore, making insinuations, doing physical damage to others. I know this sounds bad, but I try to stop myself. The reason why I'm like this is because of my hurtful past that still haunts me to this day. I've gotten better at controlling myself and being nice. My parents expect the best of me which is difficult because we're human. We tend to have a mind of our own and make our own choices. I'm sorry if I've ever been mean or rude to you because I do my best to be respectful to others, and my friends have approved too. I hope to change this personality soon.

*Fast Typer: I can type really fast. Last year, I took Technology and people were really impressed at my typing skills. This is good for emergencies or for players that need help that are about to leave or AFK. I usually type around 70-100 words per minute (typing this fast can cause issues with accuracy).

*Enthusiastic: I loved this server ever since I joined. I encourage people and even my real life friends to play Minecraft. This game is really fun and I want people to see that. Skyblock has so much to offer and I want to give it a chance to everybody. Getting along with others is a great way to start fresh if you've haven't been doing well. Even if you dislike the topic or idea, it's best to be supportive. I work on this because it's hard for me to be somewhat positive.

*Kind: I am kind to everyone around me. No matter the rank, I will be nice. I joke around to keep people happy and to make their day. Happiness can show through depression. If someone seems depressed or sad, I will get them on their feet again. I try to treat my own depression by watching positive videos or shows.

*Try to be Social: I usually always check forums everyday to see what's up. This can help improve friendliness and how I can interact. I can talk to people easily, stranger or not. I want to be an important person in someone's journey on Skyblock. This can help improve any negative aspects of myself that I hope can change.

*Hardworker: Anytime I get a request from someone, I do it. I try my best and give my most effort to finish the task. Under any circumstances, I will help that person finish what they need to do. I don't give up even if it looks bad or if I have mistakes.

*Professional: I want to be a role model for the team and for other future moderators that will join the team. This shows that I have integrity and it will result in gaining trust. Although this trait is not called "Integrity," being honest is important especially if you have been banned.

*Serious: I usually talk in a serious manner unless I am talking out and about. I use full words and minimal abbreviations. I do this because it will help people understand what I'm saying easier and clearer. I use "lol" and "lmao" at funny moments only.

*Active: I am mostly active during the afternoon after school and weekends. I try to do it when my dad has free time because I use his computer. He can sometimes take over so expect maybe 2-3 day inactivity. School also comes first! I usually stay on for 2-3 hours though.

*Cooperative: Although I'm mostly independent as said above, I can work with others too. I like to think of new ideas or suggestions for the task/topic of what we're doing. I help my teammates that are struggling to comprehend explanations or problems. This can help solve certain situations a lot quicker than usual (not all the time).

Forum Knowledge​

I have been on the forums for a few months now. I understand how rating, commenting, and the other tools that are featured here work. I mostly read the Ban Archives and Appeals to see what a moderator does. This gives me knowledge of what I should do if I join the team. I can also be in the Help section to answer any questions or figure out in-game issues. I think this is the other important part of being a staff member as you have to take care of both the server and forums.

Activity Schedule​

I am now in school. My school hours are 8:00 A.M. to 3:10 P.M. Early dismissals are 12:30 P.M. I use my dad's PC, so he might be watching movies and what not (this is the major reason of why I might be inactive).
Monday: 3 hours+
Tuesday: 3 hours+
Wednesday: 3 hours+
Thursday: 3 hours+
Friday: 5 hours+
Weekend: 6-7 hours+
Keep in mind that I do take small 5-10 minute breaks in between each activity time (when you do /seen <player>). I also might have real life situations happening such as school work or personal things. I also might be AFK on forums, too. Vacations are not always predictable. Places I go to may not have PCs or laptops. Usually school breaks will range from 1 day to 1 week.

Have you had experience as a Moderator?​

Yes, I have had past experience as a moderator. A few years ago, I became a mod for my friends' server. It wasn't really big but I loved everyone who was involved. They were great friends but we sadly separated.
So, I know some commands in past experience such as:
/kick <player> <reason>: This is not used frequently, but can be used for spammers.
/mute <player> <time> : Usually for spamming or saying bad words.
/ban <player> <reason> OR /tempban <player> <time> <reason> OR /ipban <player> : For hackers, advertisers, and people who basically break the key rules.
/tp <player> [player] OR /tpa <player> OR /tpahere <player> : For people who are bothering others on their island so you can teleport them away and also trading.

Though I haven't seen you online before. I do see potential in you. Keep trying to work up and stay active with helping people on the forums, and in game. The more you help, the better. Also try to be known in the community well. This can help people give more feedback on your application.

 

You seem very friendly and eager to help many situations. I don't think I've ever seen you in game, and this is the first post I've seen of you on the forums hopefully we can interact more and hopefully you can get to know a lot more people in this community. I've never seen you in-game before, sorry ! I think your application is good, but maybe just wait a bit before you try for mod, and get more used to the forums (I can't really talk, because I'm really new to forums!) I think you'd make a good mod...just not yet.

Also, to add to my partial support, you don't have to be a mod to help and give tips/advice to players. I do it all the time and I am not a mod. Just try to help even though your not mod. Just being a normal player who helps, you can do a lot still.
