That is exactly why the packed ice economy can not and will never be ruined by setting the price lower.

If you know that then why are you saying it will ruin the packed ice economy? That's like saying selling real unicorns for a $1 will ruin the unicorn economy. Makes no sense. Unicorns don't exist and in sb right now neither does packed ice

 

If an item is introduced into the server, you want it it be a bit rare, right? If packed ice was sold for cheap, there will be too much of it resulting it's economy to be ruined. That's why it's price is set to be a bit expensive. Same with Quartz, at the start, they were really expensive and as time goes by, it can be set to a cheap and reasonable price.

 

Why does packed ice need to be rare? There is no absolute reason for it to be hard to obtain; it is useful for builds, item transfer, and some more features due to packed ice not being able to melt. Players will require lots of packed ice for those useful features, therefore it should not be hard to obtain in anyway. For example, when those new fancy flowers were introduced when the server was updated into 1.7, they were really not expensive at all. This should be the same for packed ice. I hope you understand what I am saying.

 

Same with gravel, why did it need to be rare? It is just useful for builds, item transfer, and some other features such as creating flint, or flint and steel?

 

Gravel is rare due to it not being able to easily obtain them. However, if gravel was sold at /warp donor for 1 grass each, gravel will be cheaper in the economy.

 

Gravel is rare because it isn't sold. At all. And no. Quartz is definatly not cheap.
