Too many nick abusers, and it's getting a bunch of people frustrated.
My suggestion is to have people not be able to change their /nick once they've chatted in chat at least once for 30 seconds.

I think it would help a lot because there'd be no /nick abusers. However, what about changing the colour of our names? Skygods can change their prefix colours, so how would they change their /nick colours without using /nick? It's a nice idea and I wouldn't mind it but I doubt /nick will get removed.

I think it'd be better if there was some sort of cooldown for changing /nick's so people have time to do /realname on the player before they change their /nick again. So if you just changed your /nick, you have to wait a certain amount of time to change it again or something.

 

Perhaps /nick could be a skygod/moderator only thing?

Skygods like their names to match their prefixes. Donor100s have one colour to stick to.

All of this, and a long cooldown. 1 hour?

If you have a cooldown, then donor50+ would be okay with /nick

I sent lemo with a report of A Donor100 saying use /tc for free diamonds and op.
I didn't get his name and this was annoying.
There has to be a cool down time because it affects everyone

 

Support for this, there's no reason to have to change it THAT often, not to mention abusers.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes, however maybe not an hour. But just fifteen or so minutes? So it's still enough time to have proof for a report. It'd kinda be annoying for a nick abuser to have your nick for an hour.

There should definitely be a /nick cool down. That's something that's been needed for a long long time.

 

It's only gotta be long enough for someone to /realname. I'd say the lower bound would be 30 seconds, but 5 minutes sounds sufficient.

Regardless, it's a good idea and it's been proposed before. Surprised it hasn't been implemented.

 

An hour is way too long, like said it should only be something where a mod is able to use /realname and punish the offender.

Donor100s don't really need /nick since they have one solid colour that they cannot change.

 

/nick is not about the colors, that's a new development. It was originally added to be a shortening of your name, or in effect to change your username without actually *changing* your username. If you accidentally made your account with a lowercase letter and want to capitalize it, you can. If you name your account after something, but it doesn't characterize you anymore, say someone like RobloxianRoblox stops playing Roblox, you could /nick yourself to something more current. Even with the advent of name changing, you can still only change your username every month, so if you're in a different mood, you can still /nick yourself, at least on this server, without waiting the month.

I don't know why people are so adamant to remove donor commands that have existed forever. /jump and /nick... what's next, /enchant?

Maybe when someone use the same nick as you, their nick changes color? For example, my nick is SuperImposs , and when someone use the same nick becomes SuperImposs or something like that.

 

Okay, changed to a 10 minute cooldown. I feel like 5 minutes is a bit too short, but 10 minutes is a decent amount of time.

Regardless of how long it is, as long as it's over 1 minute, there needs to be a cooldown on nicks.

 

Imo it should only be 30 seconds. Within that time anybody can /realname the offender.

 

Support, there has been a lot of nick abusers lately and I think a cool down for /nick would suffice. Maybe lower the cool down time a bit, nevertheless a cool down would be a good addition.

 

Who needs nick. Just change your minecraft name to a name that you won't regret
