This idea is an interesting one. So there was recently a post called Donors vs. Greenbeans that caught my interest. Mainly because I'm a greenbean myself. The debate began as how donors would completely ignore non-donors and think they are better. Most of the time, people don't pay attention to names with green because they are mostly spam messages, but there are few (including myself) that aren't spammers and try to be friendly and help people in chat. The only issue is that we blend in with the spam. What if we added a trusted rank? This rank has no special perks except is would look like [Trusted]Mercify. Now I chose bright yellow, but it could be any color, just not green. Now this person needs to be "trusted" or accepted into the chat as someone who doesn't spam. Everyone starts out as a greenbean, but if a mod sees that you are trying to be involved in chat and never sees you spam, they could make your rank as trusted. Now if they start to see you spam, they could demote you. I think this would be better for people like me because then we would be noticed instead of ignored.

 

Support. I think this would be a good thing to add because all the donors (including me) kidna ignore greennies because their name goes past the chat so fast and its hard to keep track of their names.

I tend to notice greenies. specially when they're helping. I think this would be a pain. I dont see the point when if you want to be noticed you just have to help. Greenie's aren't bad, they're not labelled greenies in a bad way, it's only some that tend to muck up.

 

I like the idea, but it really isn't necessary or needed. I also highly doubt something like this would be implemented. If a player needs help they will pay attention to the chat for answers. Whether the person helping is a non donor or a donor. If you help you help. No support.

 

I had the same suggestion years ago. My friend and I built /warp SkyBase and I asked Cyp if I could have the prefix [Trusted] rank he automatically denied. but maybe idk he might change his mind but probably not.

 

No support. I don't ignore players with green names and I'm sure a lot of other people don't either. Greenies that talk normally, among a sea of spammers, actually catch my eye more often than not. Yes, it's harder to notice them but like Love said, anyone who's paying attention to chat will notice whoever is helping, regardless of your rank.

 

Mods could be partial and give the rank only to their friends, excluding outsiders or those who they don't like.

Donors don't ignore all greenies/non donors, they just ignore the some that spam them. Therefore if you don't spam them there should be no issue. I don't think this is really needed. No Support.

No support for this one. I guess it could be nice for people who have played for a long time but aren't donors, although /msg can be used to reach others directly. And as a greenie, personally I don't feel ignored in chat most of the time. If I need something or am talking to someone, I feel I'm noticed well enough

I think that this is a good idea, mostly because some people on the server try to attention seek (like my sister) those people receive all of the attention from donors/mods and even admins sometimes. I find that if there was a trusted rank that the attention would be shared around and there would be less conflict between try-hard people who buy there way into popularity and people who can't or don't spend money on this server. This rank could also help when determining if a non-donor is scamming or not. (sure you can just do /invsee but thats not the point).
There could be a application page somewhere on forums where people who have experience in the server, haven't payed money and feel they are getting neglected should go to apply for the trusted rank.

Yea, I get your point, but those some people who muck up, they kind of ruin the way that everybody looks at non-donors. This looses the trust that other people have in non-donors. If there were a trusted rank then we could determine who can be trusted and who can't.

I've had no issues with being ignored by donors. I have plenty of friends that are donors, and I joined 3 days ago!

I'm neutral on this, it may be an issue to others, but I can relate to this topic myself.
