Basically the title, I think this could be a nice addition to the server.

[EDIT] When they make the change, it could take away there current bedrock and then replace the block there standing on with it.

Personally, from my perspective people would make death traps and illegal spawn points when people /visit islands. This would result in more consequences for players and more work for mods to deal with.

So people can make it so visitors spawn inside their banner shop or something.

or something like that.

But there could be a feature in the plugin that says "You are not allowed to place lava in this area"

 

Leave the Spawn where it is for /visit Build it high above your island(Highest Block Above Bedrock(Spawn Visit)) out of the way shop whatever
Sleep in a bed(Leave the bed) and use the command /homes for your own personal spawn point.

 

And what about falling into the void?

 

'This spawn point is unsafe, please choose another.'

 

I'm still unsure about this suggestion. If you could be more specific on how and what plugins would be added I might reconsider.

 

You can't take damage at other peoples islands unless you are /trusted

 

People can /trust other players without their permission. Some players can troll by just trusting random people and asking them to visit their island.

 

I support this. The thing with death traps is that you can't kill someone that is visiting your island unless they fall into the void. But if you set that up, you would kill yourself too. I love this idea.

 

But couldn't they already do that now? It's no different.

 

I'm saying that when you're trusted on someone's island, you can take damage. Leading to trollers trusting people to kill people by saying 'Visit my island!!!' and the next thing you know, you're either falling into the void or burning into crisp by lava

 

I know that can occur if you trust them, but they can already do that in the current situation. I could do that right now to someone (obviously I won't)

My island has a 2 block water spot on spawn so I'm safe
