Now this is something that was also heavily discussed when /Nick was added/there were more people with access to nick (was a looooong time ago I don't remember which). Where people would name themselves like swear words, pretend they were someone else etc which resulted in the command being removed because it wasn't used responsible enough.

Now, after this it got added again eventually and people were more careful with it, I was sure those days were over until just now, when I logged on net and something strange happened...

I logged on talked for 15 sec with RobloxianRoblox before he went AFK, so I did my typical thing where I look for someone talking to me in chat (half AFK not really caring about chat tbh) and I see someone saying to report me, I thought, what. I was standing in a jungle tree AFK, not having said one word, and I was kicked/muted. I come back after telling RobloxianRoblox with my cheeky knowledge of him having SocialSpy on, to unmute me. At first I complained about Roblox abusing his sudo command to make me say something against my will, before he made it clear he didn't, after reading what "I" said I fully understand that it wasn't sudo. I asked Lemonade about what happened, and the message is incredibly racist, I won't even repeat it...
Quite frankly, I would have temp banned for such a message...

Someone changed their nick to "MaxiPads" and tried to get me banned, for no reason. Which is why I suggest that we use our great Dev to fix a hit around and add either -


1-
Nick timer - after changing your nick you can't change again for 15 min

2-
Nick history - all your different nicknames are logged and when you used them, if they barely say anything perhaps it could also show, let's say 10 messages?

3-
Mod approval - a Mod must change your /Nick for you

if either is added I also feel that a small change should be made to the report files where ALL reports of donors must include their /Nick at that current time, because if someone pretends to be someone and says something that would get you banned, surely it's the nick abuser...



TL;DR?

Today someone abused their /Nick privilege to try and get me banned, and I do NOT want anyone to be banned because we have nothing to counter nick abuse.

I like idea one and two, it's incredibly annoying being nick abused while AFK and being accused it was actually you.

 

That comment was extremely racist, and things like that should never happen on skyblock.

Or give mods perm to /nick people so mods choose if the name is appropriate to be used, and take it away from donors

 

or a system where you request to change your nick and it doesn't change until a Mod accepts it

Some younger kids don't really want to see racial comments or phrases. This would help a lot. #2 is the best one in my opinion.

It's just a nick, I suggest giving it to all staff and make them change player nicks, much like Cypriot with colour prefix.
