    So my smoothstone generator isn't working. The lag isn't allowing the lava and water to meet and make stone. Any suggestions? I've tried slowing down the speed of my repeater clock but its not working.

    I don't think its the fault of my redstone. A standard cobblestone generator isnt' working as normal either. Takes ages for the cobblestone to re-appear.

    Falling lava and flowing water have different speeds and they can cause it to be "slow".
    Also, the server is a bit slower/lagger at the moment, which causes for some Redstone not to work.

    Furthermore, a cobble gen generates cobblestone fast than a stone gen because;
    The cobble gen requires flowing lava and water to touch each other turning the flowing lava into cobble. This is faster because it turns the flowing lava to cobble fairly quickly and does need replace anything.

    The stone gen requires flowing lava to drop on water turning the flowing water into stone. This is slow because it needs lava to drop on to water, so the water needs to be fast enough to flow under the lava before the lava drops onto water or it creates some problems.

    You can do some Redstone which can make this go faster or I can show you how to make a different type of Stone generator.

    This is stone gen i created. Is there any reason other than server lag why it isn't working.

    ok... how these work is a repeating current, when you use a switch, you rapidly turn it on and off once, it creates a current that will repeat and make the pistons push out each time.

    not sure how well (or if at all) that works with a button....

    another topic, texture packs. that beginning piece looks like cobble, what is being pushed out looks like stone...

    In the one i created I made the exact circuit in the 2nd video. The first video i posted was just showing the speed for the lava and water to meet and make smoothstone

    I can make a pretty good stone gen, but it is pretty laggy when it is 100% complete so I would prefer getting 1 part of the stone gen. I could show you the stone gen if you are interested

    Just stop this by placing signs on the glass blocks.

    Have you tried using 2 different sources of lava on the same water source. It's worked for me in the past, I think, it seems to improve the speed that it is generated.
    But yes, I do agree that the lag on the server ruins the redstone. Timings are very inconsistent, repeaters seem to be very inconsistent. I've pretty much given up on redstone on this server, especially now that hoppers have stopped working.

    So I've just finished building the one Isharkyfinn and frozen ninja showed me. Works very well. Although it seems to generate the odd cobblestone here and there
