It is known that to take the position of moderator on the server is difficult and takes a lot of effort and time. Applicants have to write moderator long applications, proving how idyllic people they are, help kids and solve their problems in-game and act nicely. It's big competition between players that lasts for months and there is a big chance that you won't leave it as one of the winners, so here are some tips how to get your moderator application accepted and attract CypriotMerks', attention to it. Notice that these tips are only applicable in case if there are free spots in staff hierarchy.

    1. Become friends with well-known players and staff.
Server staff and players are the main support of your application. They will express their opinions in the comments and will either support or not support you, what will slightly affect your chances on becoming moderator. You have to make these people like you any possible way, from joking and helping to talking about their life and interests.

    2. Create a post about server problems with solutions for them or a thread about server suggestions.
This kind of activity is guarantee for crowd that you are familiar with server and it organisation and even know how to improve it. People will notice that and remember about it while viewing your application and may point it out in comments. But be careful, creation one of these threads may not always leave positive feedback, it may leave aggressive criticism and unsatisfied players. To avoid that fate closely do big research about server and what players and staff wants, and only afterwarss take a risk to post about server problems and suggestions. Succeed may lead to reinforcement of your supporter army.
    3. Become a popular figure on the server and forums.
Fame is one of the main factors that affect on the opinion of your jury. Crowd will rather support someone who is well-known for their merits and qualities than an unknown stranger. You can reach that by helping players, hosting drop parties, buying donor rank, becoming friends with players and staff and etc. However, if you become infamous for being banned, starting a flame war on forums or in-game, duping and etc, players will turn away from you and you will lose valuable support on application. Notice that there are hard players that don't prefer white and fluffy bunnies, so you will have to deal them.

    4. Never start big arguments or flame wars.
No one likes aggressive people, who start stupid arguments or flame wars and end up by becoming enemies with players. This is not correct and will negatively affect on your application. Try to avoid them by agreeing with interlocutor in argument on certain topic. That way you will safely end it. You will save yourself from creating yourself haters and will be judged as a friendly player. However, if you have risked to continue the argument, try to adduce convincing arguments and don't act rudely. But never start flame wars between players and never argue with staff, these two actions will always lead to bad consequences.

    5. Play CS: GO or other games with CypriotMerks.
Cyp is the only admin on the server and he is the one who will make a decision about your application. Getting to know him is a big advantage for applicant, it will slightly increases the chances of getting promoted, as the candidate is familiar with server administration. The easiest way to meet him is to get him added on your friends list in Steam and play CS: GO or other games together. Possibly he will notice that you are on his friends list and you will get a chance to chat with him and get to know him better, possibly he will just ignore you. Most likely he will ignore you, so this tip is not that worth trying.

o_O Few things I never played cs:go with Cypriot, I was popular but I didn't make friends with people to just get mod. I mostly got my popularity from activity and involvement in server matters that made me noticed. You dont need to be a donor to be accepted or get support, it does help being noticed server wise. I was a donor only 6 days before I got mod, because someone was nice and bought it for me.

Also may I add this was the case 18 months ago when I applied and 16 months when it was accepted. I hope this still applies.

    1) As I said, playing with Cyp in Steam will most likely not increase your chances, because he will probably ignore you.
    2) Sure, you didn't make friends for mod, but you still made them.
    3) Being donor increases your chances of becoming mod, as it increases chances of becoming popular.
    4) What about your case, you were simply lucky to get promoted that quickly. Just look at applications section, some people have waited more than 2 months now.
    5) Your signature wants me to rip off my eyes and eat them with hot sauce.

LOL YOU don't love cuddly ducks xD! It took me a bit and a lot of sleepless nights to get mod. A lot of application editing while maintaining activity on the server.
Back in the day I would be online modding 8+ hours when the server had a good amount of players, I hope to assume that once it resets, but yea I see what you mean mostly.

I did not notice one thing, you're an .org moderator and that server is less popular than .net and the amount of applicants isn't that big as on .net. This guide applies mostly to .net.

I play a ton of CS with cypriot, he doesn't base promoting on that.

Maybe he doesn't, but it's obvious that he will rather check your application first than check ieatnoobs36's application for example. He would rather promote his friend, than promote some stranger.

I've been eyeing this thread for a while now.
    1) Yes having friends helps, but its not necessary. I managed to get accepted without being friends with any staff members or well known members.
    2) this one may work for some but not for others. My thing was creating threads. You need to show a degree of forum activity because being a mod isnt all server.
    3) yes being popular helps, but its not necessary. You need to be respected first. Being popular and being an idiot wont work in your favour.
    4) I agree. Though i loved a good argument, as long as it was a calm debate.
    5) Never once have i played a game with merks. I had never even talked to cyp before getting promoted.

I find it funny when a non-staff creates a "How to get mod". The player creates it, but haven't got mod themselves.
