Okay no offense, but this made me laugh. Think about it like this, let's say there were no laws in the US. Think crime would go up? Hell yeah. Point being laws prevent people from committing crimes. Sure crime still happens, but it happens far less often than it would if there weren't laws. if there were no gun laws at all, gun deaths would increase exponentially, if there were more laws, deathes from guns would reduce. See my point? It's not going to ever stop completely, but it can be reduced.

Correct, big people get big amounts of money from guns business and I'm pretty sure these people are also in some kind of cooperation with the government. Real democracy, just like communism doesn't exist, it's utopia, so firearms will be never regulated in America. If someone will ever stop the spread of the guns in the masses, it will not be Barack Obama or White House, it will be powerful leader, who will be able to solve the major problem with power and by revolution, but again that is just a dream because it will probably never happen. The world remembers consequences of revolutions in other countries and knows to which disaster it can easily lead, so again big people won't let that happen.

laws stop crime, or greatly reduce the amount that happens. I mean sure humans have to be perfect to completely stop it, but more laws can be created to greatly reduce the number of deaths that occur from it.

Y'all ought to join speech and debate. This along side many others are huge topics.

There's no right answer, it's really futile to try to argue about whether people should have guns or not. People are people, they're going to kill others no matter what. There's just the unpredictability aspect when it comes to human beings so that you really don't know what the hell is going to happen. Guns or not.

Read up on why the second amendment was put into the U.S. Constitution. It wasn't so we could buy guns willy nilly. It was for a standing militia

Guns should only be used in the military, as a sport, and hunting. I have shot clay pigeons with a shot gun, and I own a bb gun.

Never thought I would log on ever again but this thread just sparked me. I live in Texas and hunting is a big thing over here. This is how people get their food, make a living, and just a great hobby in general. Taking away guns will take all of that away including our constitutional rights.

There is this famous quote in Texas that always intrigued me "Come and Take it"

Uh that law was written, when we needed to have a military and any moment, when we had the threat of impending british forces. We don't have that issue anymore. We have a real army, National Guard, Navy, Marines, police forces and such now.

Think of it this way, the government taking all of our guns away. Most people dont even trust the government at this point and seizing all of our weapons to them? And im almost 100% sure if the goverment even tries to ban guns, some people wont give up their firearms without a fight.

That's like the far extreme. If there was any more gun control laws passed, it would only add background checks, waiting times, and restrict ownership of very powerful guns, not just ban all guns completely.

What? Literally like 1% of people want all guns removed, but 75% wants more restrictions on guns. You're talking about a very small amount of people.

And about the restrictions of "powerful" guns. Its a hobby for a lot of people. A computer can probably do more damage than a gun so why dont we restrict or ban computers?

Oh do you mean implemented? In most states, there is a restriction on some very large and powerful guns, but at NRA gun fairs a person can buy a gun, register it, and then go out and shoot it, all in less than about 2 hours. They don't even have to do a full background check on a person before they buy a gun. They fall into the wrong hands more often than they should.

A computer can't put a hole in someone's head. How the hell can you kill someone with a computer, aside from maybe chucking it at their head.

People use computers for eveything. Nukes for example. A push of a button can destroy a whole region of the world vs a push of a trigger can kill a person
