TL;DR: How to use new stuff?

Hi, all. I just found about Skyblock recently despite playing Minecraft obsessively for a few years now. I'm loving the challenge, and decided to become a $25 donor to the cause - the perks were good, and I'm liking the community I'm seeing. If anyone here cares, I also play on a (mostly) vanilla server that shall remain nameless because I don't want to be seen as advertising for it. If you want to know, just message me, I'll fill you in.

That being said, I just received my donor perks, and have a few questions on their usage.

    1. Spawner
Pardon the paranoia, but I really don't want to run the rusk of losing it somehow without knowing how this server treats this amazing item.
If I place it, can I pick it up again? Do I need a specific tool to do so?
I see that I have access to the /spawner command. I can use this on my own spawner? Do I need to be holding it, or already placed?
Do torches or lights turn it off/on, like in vanilla?

    2. "GOD" Mob Arena Class
Err... I can't find it. Is it special advantages in /warp mob? Is that the one that's referenced in the forums as being gone? If so, it needs to be removed from the perks list - false advertising, and all that.

    3. Color Codes in Chat
Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find anything on how to use these in the forums

    4. KittyCannon
I'm intrigued. What and where is this?

    5. /ptime
What does this do, other than verify local computer time vs. server time?

Thank you for your time. My Minecraft name is bigst4n, but the forums wouldn't let me create a handle that was less than 8 characters.

/spawner is a command that makes you change the spawner type, you will need a mod to pick up a spawner if you don't want to lose it forever. And yes, the spawner has to be placed.

"God" in mob arena, mob arena is no longer, most likely won't come back.

For learning to use color codes, use this link, instead of "§" use "&"
    Formatting codes – Minecraft Wiki

Kittycannon spews out exploding cats, just a command for fun c:

/ptime changes the time for players, I'm pretty sure it stands for "player time" do /ptime to see what you can change it to.

    Hope this helps! c:

Spawners: I can place it, then I can change it as much/often as I want, but a Mod has to be the one to move it. Got it.

No God mode, because of no arena. Got it.

    OMG EXPLODING KITTEHS
not gonna lie, I spent 5 minutes launching cats all over my island. I've SO mastered that one.

/ptime: changed time, reset time, not gonna do much with that one. Got it.

Colors: Fun! Is there a way to permanently change chat color so I don't have to do the prefix before every message?

Just a few more notes on spawners... Some mobs are disabled. Like villagers, iron golems, pig zombies, zombies, ghasts, blazes, witches...
I'm an org mod and I'm not completely up to date with everything net, so I'm not sure if there's others or if only certain ranks are able to change spawners to certain mobs? Maybe someone who plays net more can help out?

Torches or lights turn off the spawners in vanilla, because the spawners are all hostile mobs. There are certain spawning conditions based on the mobs, and some are more complex then others...

All the passive mob and neutral mobs (pigs, chickens, sheep, cows, mooshrooms, oceleots, wolves, horses) can only spawn on grass. Specifically grass, not dirt.
The hostile mobs (skeletons, creepers, spiders, cave spiders, magma cubes) need a certain amount of darkness to spawn
Squids need water and to be within a certain height to spawn.
Slimes are a pain in the butt that need a certain height, light level and slime chunk or swap biome.

Not that I know of. Sorry.

If you look at my signature there is a handbook link. I compiled a bunch of helpful things that will help you as a beginner. I say this because there are more than 3 threads on colour codes on these forums :)

That handbook needs to be a link for all new players to read - that's some good stuff, right there. And something I was not able to find whilst combing the forums. Thank you muchly!

With the /ptime, you can do /ptime day and it will make it sunny. /ptime night for night. Useful if you don't have a lot of light sources and such. Although, once you change it, It's sometimes a pain to know when it's day/night for other players.. which is a bad thing when you're trying to sleep in a bed. :p

I'm really glad you're enjoying the community! And welcome to Skyblock. :3 Also, if you ever have any questions and such and you see me in game, feel free to ask. I'll help as much as possible. =]
