So you know how annoying it is when you make a house and it's too small and you then need to expand or make a new house? Here's how to do it. Or how I do it.

Step 1: Begin with the floor & add the things you want
So, you make the floor first, and add in the things you need (furnace, carpet, chests etc.)
Step 2: Outline the floor
Now outline the house's floor. You now have a wall and you can add windows for natural lighting.
Step 3: Roof/level 2+
If you want a 1 level house… Congrats! You're done! Now add the roof you desire and you're done
If you want 2 levels in your house.. Repeat Step 1 & 2. Continue repeating for your desired levels.

*NOTE: This tutorial may not work in single player survival if you have mobs on as it may take longer than desired. It is suggested you use a small hut while building your MC dream home

Thank you ^.^ I found out how when I was building a house and I got it too small for what I needed.

Ikr ^-^ I used to build huge houses and when I built what I needed I would have too much space. Expanding and taking out parts of your house is painful x.x

 

I find myself that a 21x21 house fits everything perfectly. 2 walls with 7 rows of 4 double chests. The other 2 Walls for enderchest, 3 anvils, 20 furnaces, 20 brewing stands and a fully maxed out enchantment corner. And that's just the first floor. The second floor will have enough space for a full bedroom with decor, spa/mini pool, destruction bin (lava hole) and, when updated, a wall of armour stands.

Cool building materials, depending on the type of house, is nether brick, dark oak wood planks and nether fences for a dark styled home, and birch logs, light grey wool and oak wood planks.

 

Wow, that's a luxury house! I'm too poor to afford that
