According to "The 1.8 Update", .NET/.ORG servers are not generally compatible with name change Mojang made possible. Question: if I empty my inventory/armor slots/enderchests, change name and wait for the mentioned update without visiting servers, will my islands (.NET, .ORG) be lost after certain time due to inactivity?
You won't lose your donor rank on net but if you change your username you'll lose your net and org island until we fully update to 1.8.
Next question: if I change Minecraft name and abstain from playing on .net/.org, won't my island be removed for inactivity? I suppose there's no estimation when the servers are 1.8-compatible and name change doesn't result in disasters.
If you haven't logged in in ages, my understanding is that the islands get cleared perodically, this is completely random and may or may not happen.
It is possible to change your name properly though, if you follow the appropirate steps: 1) Remove all lockettes from your island 2) Place ur inventory/enderchest contents/armor in a safe place 3) Ensure that you're the island owner and there are no other coops 4) Invite 1 alt/friend as the ONLY coop 5) Leave the coop 6) Change your name 7) Have your alt/friend invite you back to the island 8) Replace your lockettes ASAP to minimise the chance of being looted. If you follow these steps you can change your name fine and play right now.
Thanks! Looks like I will be in quest for a staff member to perform this scenario. During my rare visits to .org (while my island was unprotected) I have lost almost all contacts and have no one I could trust save staff. The above works on .org, AFAIS, will it work on .net?
