If one person can't leave, it's their problem. If most people cant leave, that's the servers issue, because I doubt most of our active players have addiction issues.
If most players cant leave it is all their fault. Every single last person who cannot leave... it is all their fault. Some people need a push to leave, and thats where requested bans happen. Tell me... what specifically is the server doing to make people unable to leave? Are we chained to it with locks, did crew imprison us? Its all to do with the person themselves. I can only think of one of the servers faults and that is being so awesome and fun that you want to go back. Its just a great server... that is all. Its all a game, just a video game.
Honestly? This is a pointless argument. I don't think you're getting what Krissy is trying to say. Whether it's one person, or it's an entire community, it's not the server--it's the people. The server isn't exactly a physical sentient being with a conscience that incessantly plots to attract players and get them addicted. Each and every person has an equal ability to log off and never come back, or to play another day; it's wholly and entirely up to them. In regards to your ban request issue, those who do decide to leave the server simply request a ban. Some people leave by simply leaving--by logging out and not coming back--some people leave by making a "quitting thread" and leaving, and some people leave by requesting a ban. Those who deem a complete separation from the server necessary do whatever they see fit to make sure it stays that way, and that's that.
You guys aren't getting what I'm saying either. If one person fails grade 10, it's that kid's problem. If everyone fails grade 10 math it's the education system's issue. Same deal here. I'm not blaming anyone either. If you read the thread, I'm asking why its hard to leave, and why people need to request bans in order to leave.
Games are addicting. You could make the same thread on 100 different game forums, but the answer would remain the same.
I've done an in game poll. On 12 servers. Most people on other servers have never even thought about requesting a ban. Most players here have requested multiple bans.

But then this ruins your life. And I have proof of that, because you're right there. I know it's the community, but my question is why? Repeat, my question is why. Why this server over any other server with better gameplay, better people, better staff, and this is the server that most people cannot leave?
I already said thats it's the people. Why the people here though? I've met better people on other servers, and I've already broken their hearts and left them. I still can barely manage to leave here. Considering as, I'm here to ask this question
You make it seem like this is an argument. I'm simply making an attempt to answer the question that you're so earnestly trying to accentuate.
You started it off by arguing that your "answer" (opinion) is the right "answer" it's not that games are addicting. It's the people of this server.
It appears your question has been answered, then. You believe that games are not addicting; the people of this server are addicting.
.......The server is not responsible for how long it's players play on it and what they do irl..... Why are you suggesting that it is. If there are a lot of players requesting bans, that just means that it has a lot of overly dramatic players or it is a really good server with a lot of really good players or a bit of both. It doesn't mean that the server is doing anything wrong.
