Why is this community so hard to leave? Let me tell you. My life got hard, and I tried to quit minecraft. I succeeded in resigning, and leaving multiple other servers. Except this one. Whenever I needed a break, I just logged off. I was able to leave perfectly unscathed. But here, was the only server I needed to request a ban. I couldn't even log out. I couldn't even sleep. And in my personal opinion, it's not the game that's addicting. There's several servers that can be better entertainment. This server just has a better community.

Don't the server owners think something's wrong, when players are unable to leave at their own will? When they need to focus on life, they can't even log out, but request for a ban, and when they can't wait for the ban to end, they create alts, that are in turn banned?

Tl;dr: why is the server/community so addicting

^^ The reason is because the server's community is amazing. Almost everyone I meet is always nice to me. I made more friends in this community than I have irl. You just can't leave. So many players have requested bans then regretted that ban. I tried to leave once and I regretted it in the first couple of days.

Exactly. But in the long run, the server could potentially ruin your life

I know it can potentially ruin my life.
Ill just keep playing until those issues come and try to ruin my life just like every other online game I have tried. I don't think I will be leaving for a while because I ignore most issues like that on minecraft. Every other online game I last less than a month with the community. Most communitys on other games are horrible. This is the best community I have ever seen so far.

I never plan on quitting, but I do put irl before the server. I do understand what you say about the community though. I like the org community better however, but I like .net as a server better. :p

It's not the servers fault you don't know how to log out. It's fully your fault.

I quit net because of this. I felt I wasn't putting IRL first.

    ^ this

Your fault. Completely. Minecraft is a game, skyblock is a game. If you are not getting good grades, failing, not putting irl relationships first, not living...its your own fault. Don't blame the server...blame yourself. Plenty players have lives, jobs, and more and have no issue with balance.

I don't have any issues, I already separated myself from here. But if you ask the community how many of them requested a ban, most active players have. They couldn't log out.

Then they need to get help to log out because 9/10 times someone that requests a ban is back within a week.
Its a non issue for the server, its people who have personal issues with addiction.
My advice is if you cannot log out and stop playing and its ruining aspects of your life such as school, family relationships and more, get help... you have an addiction.

Most of us, after me doing a recent ingame survey don't have addiction problems, and is only addicted to this particular server. Also I believe it's the server's problem, if 90% of users have trouble leaving.

Its not the servers fault. Its obvious that skyblock is just a really good server and people obviously enjoy playing it. Its not hard to keep coming back to a server that is so damn good.
The only fault skyblock has is its awesome.
Its NOT the servers problem. The server is up for us to enjoy playing. If it was the servers problem, what the next step... shutting it down because a bunch of kids dont know how to log out and do something with themselves?
No. Players just have to take responsibility for once. It is a common problem were all people do is look for something to blame for their own damn issues.
Its like if I were to eat KFC everyday without excersise and then say its KFC's fault I put on weight and feel gross. It was my fault for eating that much of it, KFC just provides food, I have the choice to go eat it or not.
You can get addicted to one particular thing you do realise without have a full blown addiction problem.
So tl;dr? Not the servers problem, its your own.

That's not what I'm saying. I said that it's the fact that there's funner, and better servers, but the people here are better. If it's one or two people, it's their fault, but when the majority of people can't leave, it's a server problem.

Not my inability. I already left, but the people as a whole. I'm saying why are the requested ban statistics higher on this server than on others?

    Still not the servers problem.
Most people request bans because they love the server and they will play it but dont want to. That is 100% the fault of the player
