To be honest, I cannot give you my support.

In the notification for unfollow thread, you were unwilling to consider some players opinions, instantly shooting them down. The thread was perceived as aggressive by myself and other players.

You're slightly active on the forums, but I don't see you contributing much here.

I don't think this is the right fit for you. At least not yet.

I apologize if this response hurts you in any way.

It doesn't hurt at all, but I would like to point out several things about the thread you mentioned. One, it was a quicker way of knowing that you have been unfollowed. Two, You are the only one who still has a problem with it. carterbishop5 was the only other player who was outspoken against it, and he and I get along great. Your choice of words put it in a light that leads other players to believe that it was basically a shouting match. It was mostly Carter and I debating. And lastly three, The thread was made almost a year ago. My opinion a year ago does not affect my ability to moderate should I ever obtain the post.

You could just say "It's something I wasn't aware of. I will work on it. Thanks for the feedback".

Can you be mature enough to handle someone disagreeing with your opinion? Or do you have to counter every sentence to prove you're right?

 

Neither are we both right, and yet we are both not in the wrong. It is your opinion that I was aggressive. I disagree. I can be very tactless at times, and that is not a bad thing. It can be taken as aggression by some, especially through text chat when tone of voice is not audible. I do in fact understand your side of the argument. I have since it began. In your eyes, my tactlessness came off as aggression. That does not change my opinion at all. In fact, fully understanding both sides of the situation and knowing how the people arrived there gives me a better understanding of my outlook. I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way, but I do not plan to change greatly the way I behave in that manner.
I do not think this argument can go any further, and I have said what I plan on saying. I do not wish any animosity between us, and though I might not wish to spend a lot of time with you, I do not want to hold a grudge against you or you to do so against me. Truce?

You need tact to be a good moderator. You said "I do not plan to change greatly the way I behave in that manner".
I pointed out an attribute that needs work and instead of taking my criticism constructively, you instead implied that my point of view is flawed by saying "I'm sorry you took it the wrong way".

This proves my earlier point that you can't handle someone disagreeing with your opinion.

I'm not here to have an "argument" as you put it. I'm here to help you improve yourself to potentially become a moderator.

I am fine with someone disagreeing with me. It just doesn't change my opinion. I offered to be friendly and cordial to each-other but you want to remain angry. That's fine, but it's unfortunate. Though I disagree with your opinion, if your motives are truly to help me and other players then your heart is in the right place and that is honorable. Thank you for posting. I'm moving on from this debate now.

This showcases how applicants respond to different types of feedback.
