Brief Introduction This is a suggestion regarding requested bans on the forums. Recently, people have been requesting permanent forum bans (Level 6 infractions) in an attempt to quit the server. However, occasionally, people have been regretting their decisions to be permanently banned, which leads to them requesting an unban. This would be fine if not for the fact that the only person who can remove forum bans is CypriotMerks, so this leads to a lot of hassle in trying to get unbanned. You can understand why this might be a problem. As of late, some moderators have been refraining from fulfilling requested permanent bans while others have been refusing to even temporary ban users upon request. There seems to be a discrepancy between different moderators, and it would make much more sense to have official rules in place. Official Rule Addition Now, what I'm suggesting here is that there be official rules added regarding requested forum bans to make it easier on moderators and Cypriot. Users should only be able to request up to a Level 4-1 Infraction (A 30 day ban). Players who request a permanent ban will instead be banned for 30 days. If a player regrets their decision to be banned, they will be able to wait the ban out instead of asking Cypriot to undo the ban. Only spambots or players actually deserving the punishment would be given an infraction higher than a level 4-1 infraction. Anything equaling or under a Level 4-1 infraction would be able to be requested. This would save Cypriot the time of undoing the bans, and it would save the moderators from the process of dealing with the player who requested the ban as well as from the process of contacting Cypriot. Thanks.
I like this. As I've seen countless players request a permanent ban on the forums and ask to be unbanned in the following 1-7 days. I myself don't do permanent forum bans anymore due to that. Players should honestly fully think before requesting a forum ban since they usually end up not being 100% sure by the the time they get banned. There's always this button in your tab you can just click if you don't want to log on anymore. And yeah Support.
As Larry said, don't get yourelf forum banned, just log out and then you have the flexibility to come back when you wish.
LOL, I love how you request a ban on your main account "mindsensation" just to then come hop on your alt account, which, from what I understand, alts are illegal, then while on your alt account you create this thread about requested bans, ggwp, it would've been even funnier if you had asked for a perm ban lol But yeah, Support for requested bans being no longer than a month.
Being as one who got out when I could, for some people it's just not that easy. Getting on forums, or in game or other Skyblock related things could be a dirty habit they have. It could just come naturally. Sometimes "just not doing it" isn't enough.
Then if you're a serious addict, even after you're banned, you'll continue to stalk the forums whilst not logged in or, do as mind did and just make another account lolol
Yeah, but sometimes not being able to comment on things and now I believe non-members can't even see threads would get annoying and people would eventually just quit trying. Or do like Mind did and just make another account when having alts is illegal lolol
We have had a discussion about this before. No one/ or no one should at this point should be doing perm forum bans. You have a log out button, use it. Whether or not its in the rules it wont stop people from asking. In short, I don't mind either way if its in the rules or not.
Kay so, log out means you can log back in. Ban, means make an alt. But doesn't anyone realize how addicting this place is, so much that its a problem?
