I'm being redirected to an ad on an external website from the forums. This seems to be happening only when I'm viewing my Inbox and Conversations. The ad says "Good Housekeeping" on it and looks like an article about "Anti-Aging" tricks. (Hey, I'm not that old!) It only occurs when I'm on the forums and does not happen when I'm on other websites. I would like to note that I do not illegal download music or software. Also, I do not view any adult content (on this computer ) This is actually a brand new machine. I do not think this is a downloaded virus but rather something from the website. But I could be wrong. I have found a thread about this issue, but no solution from what I see: GAF redirecting to lemode-mgz.com? - NeoGAF If someone would like the link to the ad, I will give them it. I would rather not post it here where others could click it. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm using Google Chrome. Would downloading another browser help? Are there any solutions?
I'm not experiencing this problem & this is my first time hearing about it, so I think this may only be happening for you. Do you have AdBlock installed? Maybe you're accidentally clicking on an advertisement, whether that be due to a mistake on your part or a bug on the forums.
Whenever I view threads on this forums, I get redirected when I click. But I just close/back the window, and I don't bother. Could be me, as I probably have a bunch of viruses. Try Adblock.
You can try AdBlock as stated. If that doesn't work, try MalwareBytes. You may have some Malware or Adware on your computer.
Yes I am having this issue also. I usually use firefox and it doesn't happen but I started using chrome and it keeps happening. I think it might be the browser, or my computer has adware. I would recommend you get firefox I like it a lot.
I use a combination of NoScript and AdBlocker with Firefox and I never run into this sort of problem.
megadorkvikki have any of these suggestions helped your problem? Dont forget to do a full virus, malware and adware scan
Usually it is a combination of the browser and the malicious content on your computer. I use chrome and have terrible issues and IE works just fine. Only thing is, IE sucks xD.
That's helpful. However, you should get a anti-malware program because adblock doesn't block all of it.
