Hey! As you may have guessed, this is just a quick guide to help new players familiarise themselves with our wonderful forums site. HOME To access the "home" page, click "Home" in the top left hand corner of the screen. In this section, you can... View the most recent announcements See how many players are online on SkyBlock.net and SkyBlock.org View 'Recent Status Updates' and 'Recent Threads' View a brief summary of your own profile located in the top right hand corner. FORUMS To access the "Forums" page, click "Forums" located just next to the Home button. This page is divided into sections: 'News & Announcements' 'Introductions' 'Discussion' <--- These 5 sections are under "General" 'Off- Topic' 'Suggestions' 'Appeals' 'Applications' <--- These 4 sections are under "Support" 'Report' 'Help' I'll quickly give a brief review over what each sections purpose is and what to do in them. News & Announcements- This section basically shows us all the announcements the Noobcrew or Cypriotmerks have posted. The most recent thread is at the top of the page. Introductions- This is where new or old players (usually new) post a quick summary about themselves so we can all get to know each other better. To respond to an Introduction, the best way to go would be with a simple 'Welcome' or 'Hey'. Discussion- This section of the forums consists of 'Forum Games', 'Trading', 'Giveaway's and Competitions' and anything that involves the server that doesn't belong in other sections of the forums. Forum Games included fun little games that we can all play together, Trading is split up into ORG and NET. In this section, you say if you are buying or selling an item(s) and other players will comment if they would like to sell it to you, or buy it of you. The Giveaways and Competitions section is filled with threads that 1 (possibly more) players will win a prize off the host of the thread. this prize could be in-game items or an upgrade. Finally, there are many other things you can talk about in this 'Discussion' section that don't come under the above topics. Anything that involves the server(s) can be discussed here. Off- Topic- This section is different to Discussion! Off-Topic involved discussions that are not related to our server. This section usually includes topics about IRL (In Real Life) things. Suggestions- This is where anyone can suggest any ways that we can improve our server (net or org or website). There are 2 sections, website and server. Obviously, post your suggestion under the correct place. To support or reject an idea, comment below saying 'Support (and list reasons)" or 'No Support (and list reasons)". Appeals- This section only involves appeals for banned players to be un-banned. No body can respond to these threads unless the are 1) The banned player 2) A Moderator or 3) Related to the issue. You won't have much activity here unless you are one of those 3 options. Applications- This is the section where anyone can apply to become a Moderator on either org or net. There is a set format of questions needed for an applicant to answer in complete honesty. To Support or No Support an applicant in this section, comment below saying 'Support (and list reasons)" or 'No Support (and list reasons)". Report- This is where anyone can report any other player (including Moderators) for breaking the rules of the server. Try to take screenshots of the actions performed as they are great ways of providing evidence. You can report anyone for breaking any rule. Help- This is where you can ask anyone for help. Many people will be willing to help you out so don't be afraid to ask. This can involve problems such as in-game and upgrade problems. Moderators will try their best to help you out. Trust Me. MEMBERS To access the "Members" page, click "Members" located just next to the Forums button. This page is divided into sections: Most Messages Most Positive Ratings Most Negative Ratings Most Points Staff Members There is nothing much to do in this section unless you are just curious to see who the people are that come under each topic. The top 20 members will be provided for each of these topics. DONATE To access the "Donate" page, click "Donate" located just next to the Members button. By clicking this button, you will be taken to a page that asks which server you would like to donate to (net or org). Donating to a server helps it keep going. You also get rewarded for donating by receiving kits with good items, and receiving commands (like /fly, /pet etc.) that not many people have access to. The more money you donate, the better commands and kit you get! You can donate to receive more than a donor rank, you can buy items and commands also. VOTE To access the "Vote" page, click "Vote" located just next to the Donate button. This button will take you to a page to vote for either server or see the top voters. To vote for NET, you will receive 1 grass block per voting site (there are 2 sites). All you have to do is fill in a small quick thing and enter your username. You must do this on both sites. Voting for org is the same but you will receive 100 SkyBucks (as org is an economy server). Top Voters will send you to a page that will display the activity of the server, most recent voters, most votes for the week and most votes for the month. Voting is an easy way to receive items and help promote our server. DOWNLOADS To access the "Downloads" page, click "Downloads" located just next to the Vote button. This is where you can download the different versions of SkyBlock. Not much to do here other than download really :/ And that is all the sections of the Forums Website. Have fun exploring and interacting with others and enjoy your stay! If there is anything I should add, or change please feel free to tell me ~Fintan
I wasn't too sure if I should add crating thread, commenting and all that. I was thinking of just all the sections and what to do in them. Should I add all that stuff?
It is your decision. I honestly was just joking about the commenting. Once you get where you want to talk everything is pretty much self-explanatory.
Great guide bud~! Maybe some content on editing threads/messages, etc.? There's quite a few questions about it amongst the new users.
Do ratings and rate abuse. Most people don't know its wrong, hence people being spammed with dislikes. Explain how it is differently accepted in mod apps. eg don't doslike or rude (it's people's own opinions) but feel free to use disagree. Thee above paragraph is paraphrased from Krissy.
