Without a doubt the biggest problem with Skyblock.net is the rules. I love playing on this server and so do thousands of others. And what I want is for it to excell. But this is an immense problem, one which is stopping the server from moving on, one which is getting loyal server members banned for just a misunderstanding. The rules. My problem is that on the server, a scarce number of the rules are available and the ones that are have been shortened and simplified so much that they are vague at best! Sure, there's a full version on the forums, but even that doesn't cover quite everything. Besides, not all people are allowed to go on the forums and some aren't even aware of its existence!

It is because of this lack of access to proper rules that many people are getting banned without knowing what they were doing was illegal. My interest in this subject was sparked when I, myself, got banned for rail duping even though I didn't know it was illegal! The moderators that do understand not all people have access to or knowledge of the rules get exploited by people who claim not to have known they were breaking the rules when they knew full well that they were doing something illegal. What I am proposing is that we make the rules on the server better, more inclusive and more available.

So I call upon you, the players and moderators, to do something about this terrible problem that is holding back the server that we hold so dear. This is the second post I have made on this subject as the last one was just swept away with all the other suggestions for the server. Don't let that happen again! Act now, both those who have been banned wrongly and those who want to make our server a better place.

Feel free to post your counter-arguments to my proposal as well as support, as it gives me a chance to try and further prove my point. Also, I do love a good debate, so give me your worst! :)

I support, the rules need to be noob friendly to the new users.

Thanks for the support! I think maybe when you first start on the server you could spawn with a full rule book? Sounds like a good idea but I have no knowledge of plugins so I wouldn't know if it's possible or not.

Definitely possible. Very easy to do, though it does take some time to get the parsing right and generally takes a little effort. Which means it'll never happen. So sad, yet so true, it hurts.

To be honest, this isn't something too hard, and is practical, in terms of the actual needs of the server. Support.
To be honest, it really isn't all that hard, once you get used to typing a Minecraft vook in the codes. A simple color-coded set of rules should only take an hour at most.

Also, just to further emphasise this point. I have written a book for new SkyBlock players, featuring rules, tips, economy, etc. in a nutshell. After getting it approved bybthe moderators, I started distributing them to the new players who wanted it & players who quite obviously seemed quite new. Their feedback was good, telling me that it was very helpful for them to get started. (I'm sure that this would be successful if it was to be done officially)

The simmilarity between writing a book in-game and writing one in the books.yml configuration file in Essentials is quite big, though it takes a while to get used to the parsing because the actual file doesn't stop you from entering more characters when exceeding the character limit. So, without realising it, you could be writing a huge chunk of text, which, once converted into a book, just looks like crap.

That's what I meant with the implementation of some effort.

I would like to see rules advertised more as places like spawn, or starter islands. Even starting off the server in a warp with all the rules explained. A lot of little projects and things are going on in the background to help get the rules out there. One of these days something more official will be done

Thanks for the support guys! If we gain the attention of some moderators, hopefully NoobCrew or Merks will see this and think about change! We have to make this known to other users!

Edit: Sorry for all the exclamation marks in this post, it's just that I'm very pleased we have a chance of making this a thing.

Nup, it's actually not too hard. If you know the char length of each line, you can get used tonit pretty quickly. Sure, there may be a few trial and error, it really doesn't take too long once you get used to it. ;) (Talking from experience)

Edit: You know what? I might just code this chunk of it, if Cyp/Crew lets me. Hmm...what's the fastest way to contact them privately?

He's not saying it's hard to do it.
He's saying that it isn't easy peasy, and therefore won't happen. Or atleast not in the near months or so.

Hmm...yeah, suppose so...nonetheless, SkyBlock really need a developer (Or do they already have one & I'm just misinformed?) :3
