Would love your opinions, and I know that PS4 > Xbox One in specs, but look at how cheap the Xbox One is. I only have around $500 saved up, and that would be enough to buy PS4, PSP 12 month, and CoD:AW.

Also, I already have a Wii U.

 

PS4. I've got it. Great console. Better hardware than the Xbox One as well.

Amazing OS, Fantastic Multiplayer, and believe it or not very great controller. Feels very premium

As for the one argument PS4 users always use:

No. At least not entirely.

Both consoles received graphics upgrades from their predecessors. So both look very nice.

The one difference is 1080p vs 720p. Which would matter if you were using your Next Gen console on a monitor.

In my case (and pretty much everyone else's) you are going to play your games on a 30hz HDMI TV which could be up to a couple yards away from you.

So in that case, the graphics difference isn't notable unless you but both consoles on the same model TV right next to each other and look for the pixels an inch at from the screen. We've learned this in smartphones (also seen later)

The final specs improvement going to a PS4 would be the difference between DDR3 RAM on the Xbox One and DDR5 RAM on the PS4

As we've learned from PC gaming, very few games today are getting a noticeable performance from faster and/or more RAM.

You're final con towards an Xbox is that the controller doesn't succeed that of the PS4's. However this is down to personal opinion. The Xbox One controller to me feels very premium. The buttons are very Clicky and Tactile and the triggers are almost dead silent. It also feels phenomenal in the hand. The PS4 controller is similar to the Xbox 360's except with the Mouse pad and Speaker. Those two additions, to me sound like gimmicks. Especially with the lack of functionality in the mouse pad.

The multiplayer and OS goes hands down to the Xbox One. The interface is extremely seamless and fluent. Not only is it used for gaming but its also your multimedia station. I don't even need my cable box taking up another HDMI slot on my TV and nor do I need the remote. I just plugged my cable box into my console and use it from there.


So over all we have what the 1st Gen Moto X showed us back when it came out. Specs are definitely not everything, and with the specs almost identical, for me the winner is obvious.


The deals and features for an Xbox One are just better. So that's my console of choice. I hope you take my argument into consideration.

Just already got a sweet $700 laptop, sooo, yeah. I don't feel the need to upgrade it.

I am getting a nice monitor for Xmas, so I will be playing on a 120hz BenQ.

PS4 has better specs, which amount for better graphics thanks to GDDR5. It also feels like the ds4 controller fits better in my hand. However, I found a thing for $10 on Amazon that lets any Xbox or ps4 use any controller (ie playing xbox with a ds4 or keyboard plus mouse) so yeah.

Well, I've always been a Playstation guy, but I would really make my decision based on which console only games each one has, and also which consoles your friends have

 

My friends at school are all about the Xbox.

If you have the xbox 360, playstation 4 the xbox one is basically the same thing as xbox 360.

I would say the PS4, though I've never tried either. I had an Xbox 360 and didn't like it because I couldn't get used to the controls, but I guess the Play Station controls are pretty much the same. I've heard a lot more complaints about the Xbox One than the PS4, though.

 

And also, (I know I'm a nub for asking this) what is Black Friday?

Well, buy the one that feels right, do you want to play with your friends from the school on X1 or friends from the Internet on Ps4? I'm buying both eventually, but gotta start somewhere, I moved from Ps3 to Xbox360 so I'd go X1.

However, don't buy Advanced Warfare, it's a bad game that has many glitches still undone, OP weapons, so much of the bull, it's not the game Call of Duty. It's Halo and Titanfall combined.
