What exactly is ban evading? As stated by TONS of moderators on the past appeals, "we ban the account, not the player." Wouldn't banning for ban evading just contradict yourself? A bit hypocritical if you ask me. Ban evading shouldn't be a bannable offense.
If the player did something bad, it makes sense to ban the other account so they can't do it again and it teaches them a lesson. They ban the player so they can keep the server safe from rulebreakers.

"we ban the account, not the player" is what we say when someone griefs or loots and then blames their little sister for using their account. It is taken out of context when you're applying it to ban evasion.
No it's not. Ban evading is going on the server with another account. However, you only ban the account, not the player. This is not taken out of context.
Ban evading is when you're banned and you're using an alt account. Not that difficult, pretty self explanatory. When I was demoted and banned I used two alts, that got banned for ban evading, although they were not linked to my main account, they still were banned. You are banned, so there for it is the player, and any account they evade on.
In a way, this isn't "out of context" at all, if somebody griefs, and ban evades, your little "we ban the account, not the player" line is flawed, just like a lot of excuses Mods use, "We have lives, we can't be on 24/7", "Everyone makes mistakes, it's learning from them that matters", etc. If you truly ban the account, not the player, then you wouldn't have a problem with "their little sister" making an account and logging on, but you do, therefore this is flawed, there's not a single argument you could make that proves otherwise.
I disagree with using the phrase "we ban the account not the player". What we do isnt hypocritical, its just the way that phrase is taken. From now on I use, for people who grief and its not them who did it, but someone who used their account, "your account, your responsibility". Ban evading is different. If you are banned, you are banned for a reason (even if you disagree with such reason). So to bypass that ban by using another account is defeating the purpose of the original ban. However these two things can collide: if someone who is hacked/had their account used to commit a crime, is banned, we have no proof that in fact they were hacked, so they could easily be making excuses. Then they use another account, same crime, another offense, and more. So that is why we do not let people ban evade, and this is why im never using "we ban the account not the player" because its a ridiculous phrase that makes us look hypocritical in certain lights.
It's just a pointless argument of semantics. The purpose of banning is to keep troublemaking players off the server. If an account has one such player on it, it will be banned. This applies both when two players use the same account (even if one of them follows all the rules), and when one player uses multiple accounts.

It's easy to point out what's wrong. Perhaps put your money where your mouth is and actually answer the question(s) or state why you feel that the statements are wrong.
Do mods really have to pick and choose their exact words and check 100 times over just to make sure that there are no loopholes or contradiction? For Christ's sake s*** doesn't need to be this complicated. Mods you are wasting your time by arguing.
We have to pick and choose what we say because of people who like to find loopholes to personally make sure mods look like complete idiots, hypocrites and power abusers. So yes, yes it is necessary to do.
I said my piece, I know what I'm doing to ensure that im not confusing them. Others, i cant speak for them. But I know that I am right to ban someones alt to stop them from ban evading or if they do ban evade. Thats all i need.
