Hello, I’m Barney.

I am applying for a position on your staff team as I believe, for reasons that I will detail down below, that I would be ideal for this job. Ushered by many, I thought it the correct time to make an application considering reciting the rules by heart, and helping others overcome obstacles has become part of my everyday life.

Which languages do you speak? Having grown up in England, I know English. From partaking in both obligatory and optional language lessons during schooling, I have picked up French, as well as a little German along the way.

Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) I have not.

Why do you think you should be a mod? Firstly, the most prominent push factor towards me making this application is my love for helping those in need. On a regular occurrence I log into Skyblock with this reason primarily in mind. Therefore, I consider myself to already have a large experience with one of the slices in the moderating field; making there a little less of a learning curve should I become a moderator. I feel that this little bit of expertise will set me out from the rest, and hopefully help me prove my worth.

Another compelling reason for me making this application is the lack of moderators that are online at the peak times I am online (particularly mid-day, to the evenings of the UK time zone). Meaning there are lots of rule breakers getting away with some very serious offences that otherwise could be stopped. I would love to try and change this around, bridging the moderating gap that currently exists.

Reporting people is something I have recently started to do quite often; I feel it as my way to give back to this server. Help the server, by punishing rule-breakers, and letting other players, play in peace without being bombarded by spammers and advertisers alike. This helps me understand the punishment system that is applied on this server, as I see what offences are related to what penalty. This will allow me to make more informed decisions and cut down any number of errors I would make.

How long can you be active on the server every day? As I stated above, my online hours will usually consist of the mid-day to evenings (Greenwich Mean Time) of all days. But on a day to day basis, this is roughly how I could spend my time:

Monday, I could spend from 2 to 3 hours online.
Tuesday, I could spend from 1 to 2 hours online.
Wednesday, I could spend from 1 to 2 hours online.
Thursday, I could spend from 3 to 4 hours online.
Friday, I could spend about 4 hours online.
On both Saturday and Sunday, my hours are very flexible on what I can do. Therefore, I could usually be online on either the forums, in-game, or on minechat for pretty much any waking hour.

What qualities do you possess that would help with any moderating duties? In an attempt to save the reader’s time, I will be listing any qualities I have, rather than writing it in paragraphs.

· I am very easy to talk to as I have been on this server for a long time, and am very well known. Therefore, people will not hesitate to ask me question, making me an effective and productive member of a staff team.

· Since I started playing on this server, I have always been helping people; I will always continue to do this no matter what. Thus, I have a large range of experience, from handling abusive players, to trying to help those affected by them.

· I am very active in-game and on forums alike, and after helping new TMods with learning certain commands they need, I feel I have a good grasp on the majority that I will come across. This insures a fast learn time from if I am promoted, to when I will have learnt what I need.

· I try to put almost all of my free time into Skyblock and I would love to have this time be useful and be able to use it to moderate. This way, if promoted I would make sure to stay consistently active and not drop the amount of hours I spend online.

· I am very informed about the rules and have read them an uncountable amount times. This means I can spot a rule breaker from a mile away, and know how to react accordingly.

· I am very responsible and I do not get angered easily. I am very ready for any pressures I shall receive if this application gets accepted.

· As a symbol of how I am trustworthy on Skyblock, many times have there been opportunities for me to abuse something, not once have I ever took advantage of one of the opportunities. For an example, once at an old unprotected warp, that had not intentionally been publicly available, there was a double chest of iron blocks. I privated said chest to prevent anyone taking any, and reported it to Cypriot immediately. Another example would be when 100 donors onwards could take items out of others ender chests, I did not take anything.

Do you have any past experiences of moderating? I do not have any experiences with moderating any large servers. I hope that this does not affect any chances I may have, as i feel that the experience I have received from helping others on the server, makes up for any lack of real experience.
I do however have a little experience on moderating a regular sized forum.


I believe I could make a valuable addition to the staff team and given the chance and I would love for you to be given the opportunity for you to judge that for yourself. I could continue for hours, articulating into why I believe I would do a great job, however would like to invite you to ask me any questions about myself, and help me improve in the replies below.

Barnaby, what can I really say?

You are one of the only UK people I would see online all the time, one of the most dedicated moderators I've ever seen, and one of the most friendly people I've ever met.

Activity:
- You're online most of the time, even though I no longer play.
- You try to be online when nobody else can
- You are able to be online during the usual unmoderated times.

Attitude:
- Barnaby never gets mad at anyone (well, he doesn't show)
- You really don't stop, you will help anyone no matter what

Dedication:
- You've been here for 2 years and I see many more.
- You are one of the only few I would really love to see help the server recieve.


Barnaby will always be one of the few great moderators (and really fast typers) out there, and he deserves this position back.

No support, since you've left the staff team you've become a bit too immature at times. I know of course this won't really matter as Cyp is going to promote you anyways, but I feel like you've "worn your welcome" as a Mod, and that you're no longer fit for the position, you also can't be as active as you were in the past. Good luck I guess, but you're already getting the position. One more thing, people seem to believe "Oh, he was a good Mod in the past so he will be now, yea, that must be right", yea... no, your past actions do not affect that of this application whatsoever, if you wish to get a rank back, you'll have to try a bit harder to actually earn it.
