My son likes helping people etc. He was wondering if he was flying around and put a chest on someones island with stuff or god items in it if that's not allowed so I told him I would ask.
Technically it's griefing since you're placing blocks without the players permission. If you have their permission then sure =D. Also make sure you're using /fly not a hacked client
As Swim stated above, "placing" as well as breaking any blocks may count as griefing. As this seems as helping, the chances of being punished for it would be minimal if said player(s) decide to report it. Do not take my fullest word on this, as I am not a member of the staff team and do not make punishing or final decisions. As Swim also stated, make sure the other player is okay with it (Most likely they would be, but just make sure.)
I doubt people would complain about receiving free items. However I do know that some staff members consider flying to peoples islands to be against the rules and is not permitted. This included people trying to fix other peoples islands and looking for bridges. This is something I have warned against when I was staff. I would say that he should not do this as there is a possibility that he could get in a bit of trouble, and if he would like to help he can tpa to people with permission and give away items that way.
If I saw someone doing this I would normally just let them since there is no harm done. Just understand that some people are very protective of their islands and if they freak out about this mystery chest full of goodies and report it, he might get a verbal warning and be asked to stop. I don't think it warrants a ban. That being said, if he does anything more than just handing out little gifts (for example placing blocks or building structures on other people's islands) it will be considered griefing and is more likely to get him banned.

He can build a little tower and put a goodie chest on top and destroy the tower and leave the goodie chest and it won't touch the island but make sure they aren't online
That would still count as placing a chest on their island, as it would be in their island "airspace".
lol such seriousness!!! What if they ARE online and im flying ABOVE.. like way above and shower down on them like rain Christmas presents! That could still be construed as littering an island huh
Yes.. but if you do not mind Krissy 1) I find lava buckets.. Really every time get a mod? seems annoying to you guys 2) My son Logan keeps getting scammed. He will give grass, iron etc and the person doesn't toss out the traded items and logs off. Most people NEVER screen shot trades etc.. Recommendations for better trades? I told him only trade with donors.. But that doesn't even seem safe. He offers a trade and the person say's something different and he says no and they blast him in chat as scammer. 3) I manage a veterinary hospital and if any of you need vet help don't be afraid to ask
1) It doesnt get annoying. Just put all buckets in a chest and you can post the coords to the chest and a mod can confiscate it, if you do indeed find so many. It is a mods job after all. 2) He needs to go trade at /warp skybase where there are chests to trade in. Well his nic is Ace and real name is wolfenblack. I don't want anyone refunding anything. I just feel bad for him. He feels really bad when people call him scammer when he is never the person doing anything wrong.
