A good mod app is just a stepping stone towards getting to the goal of moderator. This guide will show you how to make a detailed application that has all the relevant information.

=-=-=The Requirements=-=-=​

Here are the current requirements to be considered for moderator.
50 Post Count: This means you must have posted 50 posts in total on our forums in sections where posts contribute to post count. These sections are: Discussion (and sub sections), Help, Suggestions and Mod Applications.

Two Factor Authentication: In order to be accepted as moderator you must set up extra security to your account to protect it. This means using 2FA. ​

2 Weeks registered on the Skyblock forums: Self explanatory. Only apply if you have been a member for 2 weeks or more.

Moderators are required to have Skype or Teamspeak 3 for offline communication: In order to be accepted you need to have some form of communication with players when you cannot get on the forums. Ensure that you have Skype or Teamspeak set up.​

The template: The following is the base template for mod applications

How long can you be active on the server everyday?

First off you should write a mod app using the template above. Once you have finished, read the through the rest of the guide for tips on how to improve and tips once the application is finished being perfected.

Adding an introduction is not part of the template and is completely optional

In Game Name, Timezone, Languages, Ban History, 2FA and Recording Evidence​

This section is just some basic information which requires short answers. Try and use full sentances to really give your application a professional touch

Explanation of Why you think you should be Mod​

This question is the foundation to your application. You should always put a lot of thought into this section.
Why I will make a great mod:
I think I should be a Mod because I am an organized, mature, and helpful. Being a Mod to me doesn't just mean to remind people to not trade illegal items and such. I can relate to people who are feeling down or need someone to Skype or just talk to for fun. Another example is I do not judge others.
I know you can report on the forums but by then they have done the trade or griefed the island or spammed other servers IP in chat, so being a mod would let me immediately kick or mute or even the ban the person misbehaving before it gets out of hand.
I will continue to hold my reputation in high regard, and do as much as I can to remain a likeable face while not putting myself on a pedestal.
The driving motivator behind this application is the fact that - during my peak hours online - there seems to be a gap in the availability of the moderating team.
All in all I feel I can be a great moderator because I am active, hard working, not afraid to come online and do the work it will take me to become a moderator.

Traits and Skills​

This part is completely optional. Sometimes you may have trouble trying to structure your application in one big paragraph of why you should be a mod. Listing your key traits and skill make help you write more about yourself and you can link it to why this makes you a perfect candidate for mod.
Key Traits and Skills:

• Observant. I am always on the look out for people who are doing the wrong thing, but also looking out for those who need help.
• Honesty:If I make a mistake, I will not blame others, and i dont lie. I even give back things people have dropped, even if they do not ask. I can also be honest with myself, and if I do something then reflect back and I did not agree, then I will rectify it.
• Patience: I have been told many times I deal with difficult people without sounding annoyed or angry quickly. It takes a while for someone to anger me and while ome mods get annoyed and show it, I do not openly show annoyance.
• Reliable: The biggest reason why I should be a mod is I am reliable, in both my nature, and hardware wise as well. People will be able to rely on me and I will never disappoint people who look to me for help (and if they feel disappointed its because i physically would not have been able to do something due to insufficient permissions etc).

Activity Timeline​

While setting out your activity as a timeline is optional, you must indicate how long you intend on being active on the server.
How long can you be active on the server every day?
I attend school and that means between the times of 7am-3pm I will not be active.
Monday: 2-5 hours
Tuesday: 2-5 hours
Wednesday: 2-5 hours
Thursday: 2-5 hours
Friday: 2-5 hours
Weekend: 6 hours +

Experience​

Much like a resume, you must put down previous experience. This may not affect if you get picked, so do not be scared if you have no experience.
Do you have any past experience as a moderator: I have had no experience as moderator on any server. However I am familiar with the essentials plugin and the log block plugin. I am willing to learn additional commands and work hard.

New Update! Many examples of accepted mod applications, mostly net ones. Sorry if yours didn't get added i ran out of characters. so i got rid of most of the resigned staffs apps.
