    I'd seen a thread mentioning worldguard (something like that) for islands on net. After I had gone away and thought about the idea, I had one myself - the equialent of /tpa except for changing blocks on other people's islands! This will cut down griefing (unless someone accepts a request from a griefer) and bridging because they would have no luck because as soon as they go on to their island's boundaries - the server alerts them to send a request. In theory, it could work - I just don't know if it would lag the server!

    The other idea is locking islands. The concept is unbelievably simple. Type /island lock to lock your island - no one can come in, but use /island unlock to allow people into your island. Although, if you accidentally leave your island unlocked... well... you're open to griefing and that's that.

    So, what does everyone think?

    I like the idea, but like you said the player could be offline, so the alert would really only help them make a report sooner.. as for locking, this would be too big of a project unless it actually prevents grief, which I admit it has the potential too, but then it would have to be tested, and I can already think of a couple bugs that would appear.

    -Locking your island and leaving, then YOU can't get on the island, and since Moderators can't control coops, or others' islands as far as the natural SB plugin goes, so this would create a bit of stress, forcing Moderators to either just give up, or having to W/E all the islands that encounter this to new coords.

    - With everyone locking and unlocking their islands, there's the chance that at one point or another somebody's island could be stuck at a certain preference, so let's say people fool around with the plugin, that's 300-400+ players having the potential to break a plugin and cause some issues, now I trust most of the SB community with this, but others, not so much, and then that creates Moderators having to keep an eye out for people mis-using the plugin, which is just another thing to add to their already busy day on .net

    Hope you consider this, no support, but if it works out fine and the few things I think will happen don't(If this is tested) then good luck.

    About locking yourself out of the island xD... I think I could have explained that slightly better. Coop members can get in, it's people that aren't in your coop that can't. Hope that makes more sense :p

    It cannot work without resetting every single island on the server that needs protecting. Each island would need to have its own region, and that's not possible without resetting the server. We had protection on island but it was too laggy so it was removed. It's a good idea to add protection and I wouldn't be surprised if it was added if the server were to ever reset.

    It is as simple as this, for this suggestion: There is no dev, it won't be done.
    Although, I do like the idea.

    Yes, it could work without resetting, quite easily, actually.

    I thought if that were to be added a reset would have to occur, but I just thought I'd put the idea out there c;

    Think of it this way, on an iPhone they come out with new updated to the OS. (Ignore the existence of jail breaking in this scenario) if you want the new features of the update on your phone, you cannot get them unless you get rid of the old software and install the new one. We can't give islands protection without removing all the islands.

    I think you would be amazed by how easy it would be to code something like this on top of the existing plugin.

    Given the plugin, and the island database, you would have access to the position of /home for any player. That, coupled with the fact that islands can go 49 blocks from the bedrock, you could quite easily add to the database a place to store the locked/unlocked state of the island. If an island is in the locked state, you could cancel any interactions from a player on any block within that region. Hence,

    I am assuming that is there was a way to provide lag free protection on .net then it would have been considered. Without a developer a lot of the ideas suggested will be difficult to implement. The only thing we can do is use griefing preventative measures and trying to educate people that griefing is unacceptable.
