I don't really know if there is a similar thread out there somewhere but, just would like to mention this. A few years back, it would take a greenie 5 grass to trade for his first piece of iron. Well as more people joined, the amount of iron that circulated gradually increased and it became 3 grass for 1 iron. Now the value of iron is like basically lower than grass as many people are willing to trade 1 grass for 2 iron. I really feel that owners should do something about this, maybe increasing kit delays and such. It feels really boring as iron and diamond are so easily obtainable compared to last time. We greenies used to awe others in full iron armor but now, *meh*. So, what are your opinions?
Yes I agree. I remember it bring about 64 grass, sometimes more for each diamond. The rate now is about 18-20 grass for each diamond which means it is less valuable to have diamonds. I guess it's just the way it has worked out though.
Literally this is not the owners/admins fault. its the players who made stupid assumptions on the prices of things. The greenbean challenge is to get grass and diamonds, not iron. There is no economy on net. never was, never will be. Its just a bunch of players making items prices based on how much they want for something. Then if the player is influential enough, people start believing that is the correct price and then we have new, ridiculous prices like 40-50 diamonds for a beacon. To be honest, this is why i dont trade. I threw out a stack of diamonds to people. I give things away for free. Trading just messes things up. It is all the players fault anyway. The kit frequency will not change. There is nothing left to say really.
Krissy. I know there was never a economy. But, what I meant as the economy is basically how the item currency is currently like. I'm pretty sure grass is considered a type of 'currency' in .net. Its like how some donors sell their iron for grass. You're selling an item for a type of money.
itd be hard for this to happen. a few ways -demand for items exceeded availability. (good luck, maybe if items were used, not retraded or resold in any forms) -items production was choked off long enough -mass amounts destroyed (wont happen) -reset (not bloody likely, noone wants to lose island/items) comment other ways if you can think of any at the rate its going prices will just keep going down. even with new villager trades that could use grass iron or diamonds...
Still, iron is still good, obtainable and perfect for people who cannot afford diamonds to collect. The price is reasonable, and if people can just keep it like that, it would be great
I agree with you, prices of things changed a lot over time. Before diamonds were 5 iron each, then they went up a ridiculous amount and now they are going back down really fast but changing the kit frequency will just cause more problems than help. I guess we just have to deal with it the way it is.
Sorry for disagreeing, but this is the owner's/admin's fault. Since opening the availability for Donor400, diamonds haven't been as rare as they "should" be. The greenbean challenge is to get grass and diamonds, sure, but to get this, you have to have iron. So technically, your goal is to go iron as well. There IS an economy on Net. A bunch of players making items prices based on how much they want for something IS an economy itself. I will give a definition of an economy: An economy or economic system consists of the production, distribution or trade, and consumption of limited goods and services by different agents in a given geographical location. When 2 Skyblocker's trade iron ingots (a limited good), that is by itself a miniature economy. The kit frequency CAN change. This happens all the time, when people buy donor. There is nothing left to say really.
If I'm gonna put 400 d0llars into a server (I haven't) I would expect quite a few diamonds. (And don't pull the "it's a donation" crap on me, people do it for the items). /warp donor has new trade options to remove diamonds from the economy, but that hasn't fixed a whole lot. The prices for items is ever-changing, part of the problem is people setting price guides that eliminate bartering and trying to get particularly good deals. You can't pin this on the admin or owner, it's just part of the game.
It's not the owners fault, it's not the donors fault. It is 100% fault of players who tried making an economy in a survival, non economy server. And look now, it's all over the place and people complain about the pricing. So stop about the stupid economy because even if there is one which I barely call it a proper economy, it is all player made and utterly stupid. The kit frequency is fine and it won't change because players complain about how much iron or grass or diamonds come into the server a day. That won't happen. So disagree all you like, but at the end of the day, it's not my fault or the admins fault that the values went down . The admins don't have to do anything about this.
Of course, it's not your fault. But economy is supposed to be player made... that's what an "economy" is... Also, admins have everything to do with this. They're the ones who put diamonds in the kits, and made them valuable or common. Players also play a part - just as much as the admins. I'm just saying that admins have to take responsibility too. You technically can (even though I really don't care). The admins chose to make Donor400, and this is obviously to make as much money as possible. I'm not judging or anything, it's a simple fact. Because of the availability of Donor400, there will always be excess diamonds decreasing the value of itself. So, diamonds --> donor400 --> admins. That's why you could "pin" it on the admins.
I will say this again until you understand. This is the PLAYERS fault, NOT THE ADMINS. The kits are FINE the problem is the PLAYER MADE SYSTEMS. That is it. You try tell cyp and crew it's their fault for the economy on net they will probably tell you to get back to org where the real legit economy is
You're complaining about the prices on everything and how nothing's rare, and then you say the kits are fine? You've just contradicted yourself so heavily there, as everything "rare" comes from donor kits, as iron / redstone / diamonds cannot come from regular players.
Technically, 400Donor was made to shut up ZzTheOGzZ (since he was at ..like 800 dollars donated). However, they kept it going after his ban and final removal from most servers. Only one other person had achieved 400 donor at that time. Excess diamonds will come and go. All Noobcrew (or any person for that matter) has to do is have a rare item be released (such as when Dragon eggs went loose) and all will be well. People die all the time carrying valuables, so the economy is not all ruined.
