Hi, some of you may have seen a report on Akrill and I the other day. Although the focus isn't on me, it contains things I would like to apologize for. Firstly, I apologize for allowing a player's actions to make me angry. I should stay collected at all times. I would like to apologize for telling II_x_ReApZz_II or Pug, whoever it was, to shut up. Also something a moderator shouldn't do, and it was very unprofessional of me. I also I would like to apologize to Woozle for labeling him as the liar in our disagreement, when it is only word against word. Lastly, I would like to apologize to all of you for failing in my duties, especially the younger children who perhaps shouldn't have seen my message. Some of you may say this apology was unnecessary, but I feel like this might make some things better. I'm sorry
If I may offer my personal opinion here, I do not think that your actions were wrong. Telling people to shut up may be a bit rude, but not offensive. It doesn't attack someone, its just a bit impolite. Furthermore you had just reason, you were stressed, which is to be expected from someone new to a position of responsibility. I also do not agree with the idea that moderators are meant to be friendly all day. I acknowledge that they are people too, we all have flaws, and limits. The duty of a moderator should be to enforce rules, not to be shining, perfect angels. I'm wholly impressed by those moderators who have the near unfathomable ability to always keep a cool head and be polite and kind while dealing with miscreants. However I do not think that we should be giving moderators who slip up a hard time. If moderators are keeping spam, griefing, cheating, and scamming to a minimum, they are doing their jobs perfectly. The job entails rule enforcement much more than attitudes. Of course as a moderator, you would receive a lot more attention than that of a regular player, and its to be expected that you will come under close scrutiny by players. But I do not approve of those who are out to undermine moderators. I say just let them do their jobs, why bite the hand that feeds? I have heard one or 2 players complain about @Akrillz before, saying that he is unfair because he is very quick to ban/mute/kick. However he is just doing his job. In fact his readiness to do the job should be commended rather than criticized. Strict rule enforcers keep rule breaking to a minimum, which is ultimately and directly for the benefit of the entire server. If you have been negatively affected by a moderator, it is because you have been breaking rules, and you are in the wrong to begin with. The only time I have ever been kicked from the server is by Akrillz, and it was because I was being rude to someone. At the end of the day, we need mods like him because he won't tolerate nonsense and be pushed around. He has always been there to put his foot down and for that I am grateful. So keep up the good words, and do not let a few rustled rulebreakers bother you. Remember that if you follow the rules exactly, or use proper judgement, you will always be in the right. TL; DR version: Moderators are here to enforce rules. Let them enforce rules. And be understanding if they make a few mistakes, especially moderators in training. Strictness benefits all of us. You have nothing to worry about from the mods if you follow the rules and have respect. Thanks if you took the time to read this, and keep up the good work staff!
Thank you for saying that. I still feel like what I did was a mistake, especially considering not all of my stress was in-game, yet I brought my problems to everyone else.
I forgive you although there is nothing to forgive for. I don't think that you should have to apologise. If someone deserves to be told to be quiet then they should. If someone is trying to bash t-mods, mods or even anyone then they should have some sort of punishment. I do admire eh way Akrill works though. He has a different way of moderating and has gained my respect. He can have a laugh at times as well as being strict. I am perfectly fine with the way moderators work. You are fine, just carry on with the way you moderate it doesn't matter that you told someone to "just shut up". I don't know why they are making such a big deal over it.
We all make mistakes sometimes, we're just humans. If you're angry/in a bad mood and it's getting in the way of moderating, just go off the server and take a little break
Dworry girl. every1 makes mistakes. you are a new mod. nobody should expect u to be perfect. nobody is perfect.
Aweee so cute ^_^ She is aporlizing for being human.. but really everyone makes mistakes.. We all make mistakes we are not perfect not even the mods.. I know we are suppose to be roll models but a very strict/Cruel mod that doesn't have feelings and doesn't slip up .-. doesn't make a server fun.. Gemma you messed up Its okay ^_^ Thank you for saying you are sorry and admitting you're mistakes .. I luv you Gemma you're super sweet and kind..
