Since the equation cannot be factored with (x-a)(x+b) We must use a quadratic equation. x= -b+/-sqrt(b^2-4(ac))/2a x= -4+/-sqrt(4^2-4(2*-4))/2(2) x= -4+/-sqrt(16-(-32))/4 x= -4+/-sqrt(48)/4 x= -4+/-4sqrt(3)/4 x= -1+/-sqrt(3) EDIT: Image attached for clearance. (sorry for poor handwriting)
Well, I did: 2x^2+4x-4=0 ........2............2 x^2+2x-2=0 .............+2 +2 x^2+2x=2.............(2/2)^2=1^2=1 x^2+2x+1=2+1 (x+1)^2=3 Take square root of both sides x+1=+/-√3 ...-1...-1 x=-1+/-√3
Can we be friends? Is Batsleeper sexy? Do you think Desirability will get out of his current ban? Is terrik gei or wat?
Simple. It doesn't. You cannot add, multiply, divide, subtract, etc infinites. It just doesn't work. Infinity +1 is still infinity, infinity/2 is still infinity. It's such an abstract concept that most people can't get it through their head that infinity just doesn't work like that.
