Figured I'd make one of these to pass the time. I'm Sleepyhead08, although most of you know me as Sleepy. (Other nicknames include Pete, Lseepy, and HotBunsShleapie) I've made friends with the newer generation of Skyblock, but I'm actually one of the oldies. Here is my tale... Long ago, on a server not unlike the Skyblock we know today, I created an island with my brother. We had a great time on the server! We had a farm of all crops and a good four mob traps. Of course they were not automatic, so we'd have to manually go in and kill all the mobs with a stone sword whenever they spawned. (At this time, mobs still spawned in the dark. ) One day, I decided to get donor10. Believe it or not, my reason for doing so was because when I tried to talk in chat, no one listened to me. However, when I saw luckynumber56 speak in chat, (yes, I got donor because of him ) everyone responded to him. As a donor10, I felt so rich! I'd used the redstone in my kit to make my farm harvest with the push of a button (a stone button, of course). After this, I decided I'd upgrade to donor25, because they got a spawner. I used this spawner to spawn zombie pigmen, which didn't spawn naturally (but were still permitted in spawners at the time). After my donor25 upgrade, I still felt like I hadn't made as many friends as I thought I would have, so I went island hunting! The first player's island I joined was a donor10. When I arrived, the first thing he did was ask for my kit. He then burned me in lava. Whoopee. xD I didn't report him, as I was unaware of the forums at this point, plus I didn't have much proof anyways. After having my brother invite me back to my old island, a player named HeadphoneMisty had been looking for an island mate in chat: someone good at redstone. Well, if I was good enough at redstone to build what I had done to my farm, I could certainly help her with what she needed built, correct? So, I asked to build for her. She had a little work room set up called the "Redstone Lab". Before you walked in, you'd have to put a piece of glass as your /hat to protect you from the fumes :doctor. She gave me a bunch of redstone and iron and asked me to build her a sand generator. I'd built a variety of sand generators at the time, so I made one fairly quickly. However, the low tps of the server was not cooperating with us for some reason. We reproduced exactly 4 pieces of sand before we logged on the next day to find out the update had removed sand duplication. At this point, I found no reason to leave her island, as we'd become acquainted with each other and all I had to go back to was my brother. So, I stayed and she gave me some room in her house to store my stuff. The next day, I log on and there's another player on the island: a guy in a batman skin. Misty introduces him as none other than Robbiedem. The very first thing he said to me that day was "Hi." Intelligent, right? xD Anyways, this was the birth of my Skyblock family! We played Skyblock day and night. Our first build together was to be a replica of an NPC village, since I had previously duplicated gravel on my island. This grew tiring however, so we just stuck with building the well. This well was the first thing we ever build together. It stands in the middle of my island, sometimes neglected, but always there. Shortly after, we made a strip- I mean, dance club cat) on the island with strobe lights redstoned into the ceiling. Our Starbuxx building, our giant sugar cane farm, the Rainbow Road (including our own houses), and a mini beach shortly followed. Our island was finally becoming our own. Later on, Christmas was rolling around. We built a gigantic Christmas tree with wool ornaments in the center of the island on a patch of grass next to the well. We put three chests: one for each person. Each chest was locketted to the other two to allow them to give gifts to the third. I had asked for a Portal Gun, and I received it! Granted, it was in the shape of a sign, but it was renamed Portal Gun and that's what counts. xD Opening our gifts on Christmas day is one of the fondest memories I have of Skyblock and could not better represent my love for this server. I do hope that one day, I may be able to revisit the times I've spent with my old friends. I wish all of you get the chance to have the great experience I have had on this server and if there's one thing I would say to you all, it's to never waste your time on monetary things. All they do is provoke greed, not to mention you will be devastated if you lose them. Friends, on the other hand, last a lifetime. Yours truly, ~~Sleepy <#
You were I think my first mod friend on skyblock. (We're friends right lol). At the time I used a boomdog99 account. At the time I was THE biggest noob. I remember you giving me tips on successful trading and what stuff is worth and refunded me when I was scammed out of your own items. And to this day.. I remember the first ever diamond pic I held in my hand on .net was given to me by you. Ahhh.. good times
TL;DR Jk. Of course I read your life story. XD Sounds like some good times. And friends are definitely the best part of skyblock.
srsly guys my amber joke got more ratings than the post itself do you guys even or are you just tl;dr-ing
