Am I missing something? Every one is recommending cities(and some fairly run down ones at that). New York is fine but get out to some of the National Parks. Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Arches, Glacier, Acadia, Death Valley, Yosemite. Been to all of them and would go again. You can see cities in Europe. Edit: I realize not everyone is going to want to see nothing but wildlife so I made a top 5 list for you of places I personally love to go. They are in no particular order. Yellowstone/Grand Tetons Kauai Vegas: 21+ recommended. It is a dirty town but a fun party town for the college generation. San Diego/Florida: I realize they are both on opposite sides of the world but I grouped them together due to the beaches. You are going at the perfect time to enjoy them as well. Florida for the white sand beaches if that is what you prefer. If you go to San Diego make sure to make trips to the Catalina Islands as well as to the San Diego Zoo/Safari. If you go to Florida then I recommend Disney World or the Everglades. Disneyland/California Adventure and Disney World: Once again they are separate places but I enjoy both immensely. Disney World outclasses Disneyland but both are great. If you decide to do Disneyland make sure to get a park hopper. California Adventure is one of the reasons I enjoy Disneyland.
I recently went to America for a holiday to, but I went to Los Angeles and I went to Disney Land there, definitely a great theme park to visit. Also visit Texas if you could and go to Las Vegas. I recently go back from there and it was fun so if I were you go to those places.
I went to Los Angeles then I went to Disney Land there, then I went to Houston in Texas then went to Jamaica then the Cayman Islands on a cruise boat then I went to Las Vegas.
New Jersey has one of the largest amusement parks in the world: Six Flags Great Adventure. I highly recommend going there.
warguy3 I travel a lot for fencing and I'd say my recommendations are very accurate. The nicest place I've been is probably Florida. When I went, we rented a boat, water skis, and a water tube. When I was water skiing, dolphins started swimming and jumping with me, it was absolutely amazing. Also, the food there is really good. Since there are loads of old people, its all hotdogs, burgers, etc.
People, New York does not equal New York City. I live in New York, and it angers me so much when people always think of NYC when they think of New York. Ever been to upstate New York? Ever been to Lake George? Ever been to Niagara Falls? Of course not, but you've been to New York city -.- Not everyone in New York lives in the city.
Honestly, the ball drop isn't that impressive. It's just a bunch of either extremely tired or extremely drunk tourists. Most New Yorkers don't see it in person, it's so crowded.
Forget Disney world come to Ohio and go to Cedar point, its been voted the #1 theme park for the past 14 something years.
Cedar Point has the 2nd tallest roller coaster in the world. SixFlags in New Jersey is just as big as Cedar Point, but it has the #1 tallest roller coaster in the world.
