Preface (You really don't have to read this part) Hi there! My name is Rachel. Online I am called Lycel, but I don't mind being called either. I am 13 years old, and I'm in my 9th year of school.Today you will (hopefully) read my Moderator Application for Skyblock.net, so before we start I will tell you a bit about myself. I have been playing Minecraft for roughly four and a half years. I am extremely musical, playing the piano, tenor horn (yeah, no one knows what that is), ukulele and voice (that being my main instrument). I also thoroughly enjoy drawing, reading, writing and (who would have guessed it-) playing video games. I play games that range from the survival games like Minecraft, Terraria and Don't Starve, puzzle games like Antichamber and Portal 2, and combat driven games like Skyrim, Oblivion and Team Fortress 2. I enjoy helping people in real life situations and I try to help people as much as possible. At school, I join school committees such as S4S (Students representative council), the Environmental committee, and volunteer whenever the chance is available. I'm always the kid who sticks up her hand, just to have a guess, even if I'm wrong. I take the chance, and always try to do the best of my ability. I hope you will read (and perhaps even enjoy) my application. Okay! Here goes nothing! ~**:cat**~ BASIC INFO Ingame Name: Hi there! My ingame name (as stated in the title) is Loz_and_rach, my real name is Rachel, and online I'm called Lycel ;D. If you see me online on Skyblock.net (which you likely will) I will be called [Donor] Lycel. The reason these names have basically no links is because I made my account so long ago. My Minecraft was shared between my sister (Loz) and me (Rach)... but Lycel is Rachel backwards. Yeah I know, you wouldn't think it. Also, on Teamspeak3, I'm almost always called just plain Lycel. As you can probably see in my forums account above, my name is Lycel-Chan, because why not ^-^ Timezone: I'm in UTC/GMT +9:30 hours time zone (ACST-Australian Central Standard Time) during winter (April-October), and UTC/GMT +10:30 hours time zone (ACDT-Australia Central Daylight Time) during summer (October-April). Language: My first language is English in which I am extremely fluent in, and I speak a fair amount of French. I also learnt Indonesian for 2 years and Italian for 5, but I'm not overly fluent in them to be honest... :I History of Banning: Despite the fact I have played this game for four and a half years, I have never been banned on ANY Minecraft server or on any other game server. EVER. I never been kicked on a public minecraft server either, so my record is crystal clear! ^-^ MODERATOR RELATED QUESTIONS Why I think I should be a Mod: After playing Skyblock for a considerable amount of time, I have found how amazing and variable the crowd is. In the time of Skyblock I have played, I have answered lots of questions, held community conventions and helped people as best I can. I have also discouraged illegal acts like the trading of dirt sand and gravel and discouraged spamming and foul language, just because I don't think it's appropriate to behave that way. I have always aspired to help others as much as I can and me becoming a Moderator will allow me to do so further. I have noticed on the server there is a large gap of moderators while I am on, meaning there are many n00bs trying to figure out what's what and getting their head around how to play the game. There are only ever one or two mods and usually none on at the same time as me and I hope to close that gap. ^_^ Approximately when I am most likely to join the server, there are about 100-150 people online. Without a moderator and a lot of the time not even a senior Skygod, there are constant questions being fired in the chat. I try to answer them all, but quite a few are issues that only a moderator could handle. I understand the mechanics and whatnots of the server fully from experience and a little help from Google, and once I become a moderator I will have to learn even more than I already know. I have displayed what I know below. I have already talked and helped in the chat a lot and I'm sure if I become a moderator I'll will continue to do so more than ever. I have always been a helpful person on servers and I try to make everywhere a comfortable and enjoyable environment. I am also quite active on the Skyblock.net forums. I reply and give feedback on Moderator Applications and talk in general discussions on various topics. I have made many friends on the server while I have been on, through teamspeak, forums and the chat. I have no negative ratings on the forum, and my positive ones are growing by the day. Public servers and multiplayer in Minecraft were invented for people to be able have fun and be sociable whilst still being nerdy and insociable in their real lives. Since then, servers have developed making many different game modes, like Skyblock, Mini Game servers, Survival servers and Build servers but they all boil down the the essential things- They are a safe fun environment for people with similar interests to interact and play together. I think that is really the pure reason any server exists- even and especially skyblock. I think that to maintain the peace on all servers, there must be rules, guidelines, and people who enforce them. Seeing as there is an obvious gap during my playing hours, there is no one to enforce and make having fun and being sociable a safe environment for all. Me being a moderator would prevent this from happening. ~Motivated- I am alway pumped to get back on the server and play some more- so I can take part in competitions, hold competitions, help beginners and generally be myself. I also enjoy helping others, which means I actively log on solely to help and answer questions. (I need a lief :3) ~Kind- I always try to be as polite and kind as possible whenever I communicate to others, and don't shout at beginners because they are imbeciles or anything of the sort. I also try to talk to everyone as equals and don't see the green text any less than the gold, blue and multicoloured ~Lawful- I have and always will obey rules in all places and all situations. Whenever I query a rule I ask a Moderator or Skygod, so as not to be in the wrong. I have a very low guilt tolerance and whenever I accidentally exploit glitches because I lag out, it haunts me for the next month. And the sad part is I'm not joking. ;=; The trauma... ~Experienced- I have been playing Minecraft for over 4 and a half years. I know everything about vanilla Minecraft, past and present, and have been playing servers for almost as long. I know all about plugins such as Essentials and all that is needed to know about the Skyblock commands, so I can help players very well. ~Dedicated- I will play the server every day without exception unless something big come up. You could say addiction, but a nicer word in my mind is dedication ;D This nicely links up to motivated, but I think deserves it's own category When I can be online: I attend High School from 7:00am - 4:00pm on Mon-Fri. I also have various after school activities. Monday- 1-3 hours (School, Brass Band) Tuesday- 2-5 hours (School) Wednesday- 2-5 hours (School) Thursday- 2-5 hours (School) Friday- 1-3 hours (School, Scouts) Saturday- All day Sunday- All day History of being a Moderator: I have been in high positions on servers, but I have never been a Moderator or anything like that before. Just to give you an idea of what kind of person I am- in real life I have been a school representative for seven years in a row and never once got a detention. I see you online occasionally, which is strange, considering we're neighbouring countries. However, the times i have seen you on, you do indeed try to help players wherever possible, you have my support.
Guys- I've made some changes on my application and pretty much expanded it a ton :cat if you want to check it out again and starting crying at how amazing I am (jk) go ahead and read it ^w^ I added a paragraph of why I think I should be mod and totally re-wrote my preface. Also changed green to dark magenta and made some titles dark cyan P.S... 300 VIEWS!! Booya!
