This server used to be my favorite ... I would jump on my computer as soon as I got home from school to play skyblock, most nights I would sneak out of bed to play it and most days I would spend hours on it. To me there is basically no trade compared to what it used to be. Back then I could say buying something in chat and get spammed with offers. Now most ppl are lucky to get an offer once every few days. I miss all the old players the most ..... They were the biggest reason the server was fun. I think the slow decline was caused by selfishness of wanting to keep items and this makes me sad. Before I was banned last month I went on every week or so. Now this server is just a ruin of the great community that used to be. I guess the point of this thread is just to say, the point of this server is not to be the richest or to have the rare items, but it's about meeting new people and having fun working on a sweet island.

I've been on the server for over 2 years and have been playing minecraft for 4 years, and now that I think about it, my favorite times in minecraft came from my early days on the server. This server's community has definitely gone downhill since then, and it's because everyone wants to be the richest person. So I completely agree with this.

I remember when I was a green bean and I tried to buy a fire block for 10 diamonds. I was st00pid back then...

 

It pains me to think that this is the current generation of skyblock >.>
Players only caring about riches and willing to step on anyone in their way to be the richest.

Its a lock on a door that sets you on fire if you get the code wrong

 

Exactly, i miss that aswell from about a year ago.

 

I remember the days when not only donors but non-donors were always spamming chat with auctions or sales or wants to buy just like you. Sadly its what the world is coming to. There's not much fun on some servers anymore because they all focus on being the richest or having the most good stuff. It saddens me to see what the server has become, but we can always attempt to bring back the old ways and fix the server of its greed.

Around a year and a half ago I bought a fireblock for 10 diamonds and sold it for 15 xD

 

Weren't they available for a few grass blocks in the donor area of /warp skybase?
Also, it was a fun time when you got 15 Grass Blocks from voting each day.

Only one way to get the community back though, I've not been here for long but if everyone here tries to get back this community and if everyone advertises I'm sure we can recover what we felt we've lost
