I'm not saying I want you to keep every person that breaks the rules banned. All I want is the rule breaking to stop. I completely agree with this, but when people are unbanned, a lot of times the rule breaking continues, and I want that to stop. If I could send a message to every person on the server, telling them to stop breaking the rules, I would, but obviously I can't do that, so having mods become more strict with appeals is the next best thing in my opinion.

Ok so lets say you had to do an appeal. Some guy griefed a few valuable blocks and didnt know the rules against griefing. Its their first offence. Now what would you do? Keep them banned? deny the appeal? See we read through carefully, we look at our evidence and we carefully consider the history of the player, the extent of the damage, things that were taken, the actions the player did after the action they did. Its harder than it looks to handle ban appeals.

If they really seemed sorry, admitted to what they did, and didn't know the rules, I would make them read the rules, then unban them. If they did it again, I would keep them banned.

And another thing, I don't understand how people see another island and think: "Hey, that thing over there is pretty cool, I'm sure nobody will mind if I utterly destroy it". If they use the "I didn't know the rules" excuse for this, I would keep them banned.

The problem is that you can't tell if they are truthful or not. The mods (which Cyp or Noobcrew choose) they are chosen to do that. And most mods have tons of practice. The mods know how to do it and the way that they do it it fine.

See, but no one says that. Not playing on the server for any amount of time is considered the punishment. Thats what we do. we try and see if they are genuine by asking questions. And if they did it again they will be kept banned unless there is a certain circumstance that we find to be an impact. Remembering that many other servers have gamemodes for raiding and people just think thats acceptable on all servers. At the end of the day, most people dont reoffend, and those who do find it harder to get back in the server each time

May I ask what these circumstances are? I don't see any reason for a multi-offender to be let back on the server.

I i do say what im thinking right now, people might start using it as an excuse because I would be personally forgiving in this situation with a multi offender (less than 3 times though)

Personally, I would not give any slack to a multi-offender, even if it is only their 2nd ban. They were banned. They now know the rules. They know the consequences. They were unbanned. And now they somehow manage to break the rules again and they get banned. They knew what would happen, so why would they break the rules again? Over the years, people have made up several excuses, but I do understand the problem of how mods don't know when people are telling the truth and when their not. What I want is for mods to stop unbanning the majority of rule-breakers when they are either telling the truth or making up excuses, because less people are telling the truth than either lying or just begging to get back on.

well heres the best part. Multi offenders must be given the same right as all appeals. They are able to say their part, explain why and everything. We cannot say just because you are a multi offender you will be denied. The question is not "how do we know they will just offend again", but rather "how do we know if they wont. And that means giving people chances (less than 3 for me personally).
Through appeals we also try different methods to make people understand the importance of the community and the rules. Its working out quite well so far.

I understand that all appeals must be taken into consideration, but like you said earlier, each time a person appeals, their chances of being unbanned get lower and lower. Also, I understand this is working nicely so far, but it could be working better if the mods take what I'm saying here into consideration. Of course I could be wrong, I am not a mod myself, I may not know some things, this whole conversation could be a waste, but this is just what I think could make the Skyblock community better.

I understand that the current ban system is fine, I'm just giving my input on a suggestion to try and make it even better. And I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job, I'm only giving my honest opinion on how to make your job more productive. You can completely ignore this entire thing if you want, it's just my opinion.

let be share a little something for nothing. Before I got mod I literally spent my time reading appeals. I was bored and they kind of gave me clues. I thought some people should have remained banned, and commented to myself: well he/she is obvious lying so why was the appeal accepted. But actually dealing with them is a different story. There is so much I didnt get about ban appeals until i had to handle them.
    :p

I see what you are getting at, and you are probably correct in thinking that is what is happening with me. It is late, and my birthday is tomorrow, so I am going to bed now. I'll think this through in the morning. Until then, night.
