If I repair the island next to mine, is that griefing?

Title says it all. The island next to mine was subject to a heavy grief a few months ago (there aren't any logs) and the owners haven't been on in a few months. Since my request to expand into their 49x49 space was rejected, I figured I'd be a nice guy and repair it. The problem is, placing blocks without the owner's consent is basically griefing.

Am I allowed to repair their island?

I would say no because the player did not ask you to and you should stay away from his/her space.

I'd say no, sine you aren't allowed by the island owner.

And yet, nobody on that island has been on in the last month. I created a sign asking for signs of life almost 3 months ago, and no responses have been created.

If the owner no longer plays, why repair it? It's griefing.

It's a nice thing to do. Also, it's starting to be a bit of an eyesore.

EDIT: NarcissaMalfoy27 there's no need for a the "dumb" rating...

Its a nice idea, and even though your heart is in the right place, I'd say better off Not to, unless given the OK by the island owner.

The short answer is, yes. If you change a block without permission on an island thats not yours = griefing. Whether you break and endportal frame or place 10 spawners.
