    Anything in minecraft can be screen shot. The title screen, server list, text, chests, anything, as long as your screenshot button works.

    You are probably using 1.7.2
    Switch your version to the update, and you can screenshot GUI

    At the moment i am having trouble Screenshoting chests the simple F2 So i have just been taking screenshots with my macbook [Command shift 3] If that helps ;)

    For chests (bc I have a mac) I do 'command' + 'shift' + '4' and then drag it over the area you want to take a photo of. It doesn't work if you are not in a a chest or an item with a GUI
