Before we begin this application, I would like to say a bit. Sorry for it being so long, I'm a bit OCD and I felt the need to include Every. Single. Detail. I apologize if you don't like to read I also would love to thank you all for clicking on my application! However you found your way here, I appreciate you taking your time to give me some feedback So, let's get this show on the road! In game name: Gemstone Timezone: UTC-5 (Eastern Standard Time) What languages do I speak: I speak and read English, but I can pick up enough of a language quickly to understand people in chat, I could search up translations quickly if necessary, and I will be learning Spanish next school year Have I ever been banned: I have made it my goal to never be banned on a server, because rules are there for a reason, and I'm a follow-the-rules type of person. Kind of a goody goody actually. So no, I have never been banned on any server, especially not Skyblock.net, because it would break my heart. I have been forum banned however, on here. This was for a reason almost funny. Somebody commented on a ban appeal, and I commented saying not to comment on ban appeals, even calling myself a hypocrite. Long story short, BAN! It was like 4 days, and I almost died. I love the forums! A bit about me: Before I try to convince you all that I'm worthy to be a moderator of this fabulous server, I think I should introduce myself a bit better... My name is Emma, I live in the United States, on the Eastern Coast. I started playing Minecraft long ago, and I don't actually remember when I began playing skyblock.net. You see, I used to be a server hopper, and now..well now I don't play on any other servers! I love skyblock so much, and more than I love just skyblock, I love the people who play it. I promise you all I would only make this application if I thought I knew enough and was absolutely ready to be a moderator among you all. Why I should be a moderator: ❤ Helpful- I try to be a helpful person whenever I have the time and resources to help somebody. ❤ Patience- I stick with people even when they don't understand something. In the past I have explained the mechanics of obsidian multiple times, as well as repeated rules and tips on the server multiple times to help somebody understand. I can be very patient with the younger players on the server. ❤ Expectations- I love helping people, and I believe in helping people if you have enough to help. I do have some expectations of people I am trying to help. I can not tolerate endless begging. Sure, if you need something, it doesn't hurt to ask, unless it is highly unlikely anybody will ever give you that item. But when I ask if anybody needs help, I do not mean does anybody need a spawner! I also expect manners from people. Last, but definitely not least, I expect some level of patience, especially if the server is particularly busy. I do not feel these expectations are unreasonable at all. ❤ Using teleport to help- I've helped with griefing problems, stealing, and more. Often, when there is only one mod on, or even no mods, I send out a message telling anybody who needs help to /msg me. I use teleporting mostly to help others with a variety of things because too often I see people who need help and nobody will come help them. Since being able to teleport, I have helped with multiple griefing problems, along with helping a few people expand and make their islands better. I've been teleported when griefers are committing their crime, and arrived just in time to take screenshots and help report the griefer. ❤ Engaging- I try to engage people in drop parties and skin comps often, and overall make the community better, with people working together and having fun. I am constantly getting together random items I don't need in a drop party chest for drop parties. I also try to have my own unique personality on the server, and make friends all the time I pride myself on being well liked by everyone that I know of. I am nice to everyone, as long as they are reasonable and nice to me, and even if I disapprove of someone or their actions, I will be polite to them, if not a bit...cold. ❤ Giving Tips in chat- Since getting the ability to have nicknames, I have been changing my name to [Donor] Tips and giving helpful hints to people, especially things I was confused about when I was a green bean.I do this during times when I have nothing to do except monitor the chat, remind people of rules, and just be a "chat ninja" as I call it. ❤ Not biased towards a certain group- I'm not caught up in the "groups". I don't think of myself as too good for anyone. I will help anyone, work with anyone, and be nice to ANYONE. I will never exclude someone just because they don't have the money to donate. I don't discriminate against greenbeans, or favor donors, like some I've seen. It makes me mad when I see a message like "Adding People to My Island! Donors Only!" There are amazing and trustworthy greenbeans, and rude, destructive, and just plain mean donors. Money to spend on server ranks doesn't automatically make you a good person. ❤ Workaholic, I strive to do my best- I'm kind of a workaholic. If I have a task (such as moderating) I will do my best anytime I'm on the job. I will constantly be a presence in the server chat anytime I'm on. I strive to be the best in everything I want to achieve. In my school life, as well as personal projects, I will do whatever it takes to get it done and get it done not only right, but above expectations. ❤ Fast Typer- I'm a fast typer, I can fire off messages to people who need help, and moderate chat with the best of them, with basic rules reminders. I also have good memory, which is useful when it comes to sending messages to usernames which have already disappeared in the chat. I don't have to scroll, I'll remember it. ❤ Organized- I'm very organized. I can help people who need it in order, and do it quickly and efficiently to help the most people possible. Because I can't do anything about most illegal activities on the server now, I am very organized when it comes to taking screenshots, asking for information about what happened from onlookers, and reporting it either to a mod, or on here quickly and with complete information If it was a very busy day on the server, and the help messages were just rolling in, I would definitely write down usernames in order, to make sure I didn't miss anybody. I also have begun creating a forums database of sorts, in Good Docs, where I have copied links to important things, like the rules, as well as the rules themselves so it's easier for me to post them in threads that need them without having to open another tab and look up the certain thing on the forums. ❤ A leader- I am a natural leader and I try to be a role model. I was Student Council president this school year, so I know how to lead a large group of people, as well as keep order within a large group of people. I also have tutored younger children and I know how to talk to and work with them, and as we all know, children younger than 11 make up a large part of the Skyblock community. I do and would continue following the rules and overall being the model of a respectful player on Skyblock as well as a good person. ❤ A rule follower- I don't break the rules. I don't think it's funny when people break the rules. I don't condone breaking the rules. And I won't let breaking the rules slip by me. I know all the rules, and how to uphold them. ❤ Understanding- I have a good sense of empathy. I can understand why people do what they do and I can fairly and correctly judge a situation. I also have thought of and learned of loopholes in the rules. Of course, I'm not going to abuse these loopholes, but this knowledge and understanding of how rule-breakers think would definitely help me catch them ❤ Knowledge of Bans, Kicks, and Mutes- I know which situations deserve what punishment, such as a permanent ban, temp ban, kick, mute, or warning. I also know how to correctly judge a ban appeal. ❤ Good Judgement- I have been told before that I have good judgement. Something I do sometimes is read ban appeals on the forums. I can't do anything about them or course, but I read them and think what I would do. Over the time I've been here I've guessed right as far as what the banning mod eventually decided to do most times. I would always try to judge right when it came to unbanning a player on the server. I can tell when a player is truly sorry and when they are just trying to say what we want to hear. ❤ Dedication to the server and forums- I love Skyblock.net and the forums. I love the gameplay, the people, and the conversations. I spend almost all my time on the server, and if I can't be on the server, I'm on the forums Even if I didn't really feel like moderating at any given time, I would, because I know the server needs moderators, and a moderator's job is to be active and help the server run smoothly. ❤ My belief in myself- I would not have made this application if I did not believe I could do this. I made this application too early at first in my opinion, but I have edited it and it is entirely different. I have matured and I still am maturing every day, and I think I do fully understand the responsibilities of being a moderator on Skyblock.net. ❤ Maturity- I am a very mature 13 year old in real life as well as on skyblock.net and the forums. I don't lose my temper, and I try to base my responses to questions and forum threads off how mods act and respond to things. I can have patience, and I will never flame someone or act badly just because a situation is stressful. I also know when to be serious and when to be playful, and how to act in different situations. I would be able to distance myself from friends and other things to do my job, Moderating. ❤ Knowledgeable- I have a high level of vocabulary and I know how to use grammar correctly, both which are important in a mod. I will and do look professional when I am having a serious conversation, using correct grammar and spelling 99% percent of the time. (Everyone messes up sometimes ) ❤ Respectful- I have a high level of respect for any player on skyblock. I will respect other mods decisions on all things, including ban decisions, and I will continue to harbor my deep respect for every person who plays on this server, which I hope I will have the privilege to moderate. ❤ Professional- I am a very professional person. I am very conscious of my appearance to others, and I can focus on my job and make it all I do at the time. I don't cuss. I just never got into the habit of it, and I see no reason to. I have manners and I will always be polite, even when dealing with players who have done bannable things on the server. I will always be conscious of how often and how well I am moderating the server, and if I ever knew of a time when I would be inactive, I would tell the staff immediately so they could plan for my absence. If I ever began to fail in my duties, Cyp wouldn't have to worry about demoting me, I would resign for the good of the server and the players. ❤ I would NEVER abuse- I would never abuse my powers. I would never think I'm better than anyone else. I would never use any power of mine, such as ban or mute, wrongfully, and if I was ever to accidentally make a mistake, I would fix it as quickly as possible and apologize a thousand times over. I understand how much trust everyone has in a mod, and I would never do anything to break that trust. Server Activity: I play on Skyblock every day, except under rare circumstances. My regular schedule goes as follows. Summer: As it is FINALLY summer, my Skyblock playing time just opened up! I can be on anytime from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Those times will occasionally vary of course. As long as I keep up with my house responsibilities and chores, I can be on the computer, so my time on with vary greatly. Rest assured, I will be on whenever possible! Holidays: My time on the server on Holidays really varies, depending on whether I am out of town and therefore away from Minecraft, but if I am home, I will basically be constantly on. Also, if I am away from my computer, I have Minechat, so I could still moderate chat and help people with questions, just not with things in-game. Note- As of now, my phone still hasn't been replaced from the unfortunate toilet diving experience, so times on which I can be on (Minechat) are slightly decreased. Past Experience: I do not have any actual past experience as a mod, but I have learned a lot from watching and observing mods on the server. I also am a technical admin of a server, although I don't have to act like a mod on there (yet), I have been testing the ban commands as well as other commands mods use, and I have experience with them now. I understand the responsibilities and expectations of a mod as well. Anything I don't know, I will learn and study until I know everything there is to know about what I need to do as a mod on the server. There is a first time for everything of course, and I think I have what it takes for this to be a successful first time. Summary: I am an 8th grader from the United States East Coast. I love Skyblock.net. I have never been banned on any server, and my goal is to never be. I still remember my greenbean days, and I can relate to and help the new members of the server today. I love the Skyblock community, and I want to help make it better. I believe in helping people whenever possible. I don't have crazy amounts of friends on the server, but the ones I do have, I love with all my heart. Not a bad application.It has a lot of detail,but I never see you online,most likely because of the timezones.
I'm online most every day, but never past like 10:30 where I live, so that's probably why Thanks for the feedback
Half support, I don't think I have seen you on the server, although time zones could explain that, but there is a lot of detail, so I think you are a good candidate, I will look out for you on the server, and I may just change my mind
