Okay, so this has been on my mind recently and I thought I should share my thoughts on sand on .Net
It's illegal because it can be /newisland farmed right? Why?

You only get 3 per island. Why go through the effort to farm it countless times to farm it plus almost no one island farms.

Sand is a recreational block. It could literally cause no harm to the economy or the server whatsoever. The worst someone could do is mass produce cactus :O

People like me who are trying to liven up our skyblocks, want more blocks to build and experiment with, sand does not need to be illegal.

Still Island farmable = Still iilegal.

 

But it's an almost worthless block...

 

Ace it's illegal because u can make TNT with it which is also illegal

 

Same with Dirt, but the thing is people could Island farm so hard and get like a full large chest of sand and sell it for a lot.

 

TNT explosions are disabled…

 

If sand was made legal, TNT and glass would probably be legal. But then people could grief a whole island using TNT but the mods would have to find the exact block that the TNT was placed on.

okay, heres an idea I heard from Krissy_Punk, The starting islands could use RED SAND and normal sand could be legal.

 

Sand is pretty useless, and if anything, red sand would be tradable, not regular sand.

Sand = TNT + Pressure Plates = AFK-Troller's Killing

 

Well.... Sand is useful but there is always always those who will misuse it. But I still don't see how people will go around blowing people up with TNT. They would have to TPA to each others island. Not everyone has access to /tpa. I also believe donors know better than to go killing people with TNT. Public warps are not a worry since they are protected.

 

Pros with Legal Sand:
-Will be Cheap
-Glass, Sandstone, Etc
-Donors get too much, and can get rid of it


Cons with Legal Sand:
-People suffocating by falling sand
-People getting blown up by TNT
-More island farming...?

part of the reason is so people buy donor, is so they can the kit (which includes sand).

there is a reason why it should stay illegal!

 

Okay but idk why people are worrying about the TNT as it's explosions have been disabled. Its nothing more than a building block now xD

 

you know-I have a great idea. make sand illegal to trade, but sell it at /warp grass.

I'd say 5 grass per sand, making sand valuable, and making buying donor still very worthwhile. however, this would allow non-donors to build beaches, sandstone buildings, and cactus farms. (I mean, my auto-farm consisting of 3 cacti isn't very productive)

However, sand would still be illegal to trade amongst players. This would discourage island farming, with a legal way to obtain sand.

 

Public warps are still un safe from TNT unless if there is a setting to remove TNT explosives in the protected area. And some people could make TNT cannons to blow up islands far away, so /tpa isn't the only concern.
