Your in-game name: Hello there, my name is MooshroomDoom, I'm taking this question as an opportunity to ramble on for a bit, so please bear with me. ;_; It seems like a random username, as I don't especially love mooshrooms or wish to bring doom down upon them. My thought process was basically make a name I could live with- without numbers. Ew. And it rhymes, which is cool. I'm named Elizabeth in rl, and my friends sometimes call me Lizzie or Liz. I'm okay with you guys calling me that, but prefer Doom or variants. Oh, and I'm a girl, if you haven't noticed. Which timezone are you in? I am currently in the Pacific Standard time zone, or PST, which is GMT-8. This allows me to be easily be available to most US citizens, but not so much to global Skyblockians. This may be a problem, but not a major one- just because I'm in a different time zone doesn't decrease the amount of people I'd be able to help. Which languages do you speak? Just English, and maybe ten words in Spanish- counting to ten, which I learned when I was about three. I doubt that'll help me much here, however, so just disregard it. You're probably thinking "What? Didn't she take English/French in school?" No, I haven't, because I'm eleven. By now, you are going "Pfft.. Eleven? She's such a n00b! She probaly talkz leik this!!!1!1" By now, you've probably also noticed that, well, I don't actually talk or type like that. Now, discussing age/maturity in the "Which languages do you speak?" section isn't really getting us anywhere, so I'll talk about it more in the "Why do you think you should be a mod?" part. Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) I have not been banned, and hopefully my winning steak continues C: Fortunately, I think it will, as breaking rules doesn't appeal to me. Why it appeals to anyone, ever, is a mystery. The most I can do at the moment is report these errant few and hope for the best, but awarding the position of moderator would greatly increase my capabilities of punishing the ones who seem to think that breaking rules are fun. I have indeed reported a small amount of people, but not many- but reporting people is not essential for becoming a mod, and I only do it when someone is breaking the rules. Why do you think you should be a mod? Okay, here goes *deep breath* I'll address the age issue first, then some of my backstory, then the actual reasons. Please, read this section before making a judgment on my status. AGE If you've been reading this far, you should know I'm eleven. If not, guess what- I'm eleven. On the internet, I've noticed age being directly correlated with maturity. "Wow, dude- you're typing like a 5 year old." "I'm 16, therefore I'm much better than you." The list goes on. However, I have found this strictly untrue. My best friend, who happens to be 10, one zero, codes, roleplays, and overall acts brilliantly, in person and online. Like her, I believe I can be more mature than some of these teenagers, even many. Just looking at this form here, what do you see about me? I feel I can actually do grammar, spelling, and proper punctuation [argh >:C] better than many older people on this very site, not to mention the Web. Age does not equal maturity, and I scoff at those who should take it into account in their view of someone. If someone is acting reasonable, level-head, and mature, then age should not be a factor. BACKSTORY or Why is a eleven year old typing like she just came out of English class? To answer the second question, I read. No, seriously, I read. A lot. Do you think I'm kidding? Really, reading helped me learn grammar, spelling, and various other things that they teach you in Language Arts. Not only that, but it taught me the basics of a great story, and just how to write well in general. Reading is the main reason you don't see me typing like a ape locked in a room with a typewriter. Sooo.. Backstory, huh? I'm an All-American California gal, with dad from Fresno and mom from Ohio. Read lots, did internet stuff, baked cookies [and brownies and cake and cupcakes and muffins.. yeah, we baked lots] and did kid stuffs. And, since I haven't really lived long enough to have much of a backstory, let's move on. The Juicy Bits, or, Actually Why I Should Become a Mod. Here we go, the juicy bits. Read on to find out why I should be a mod, besides talking a lot. #1 Helpfulness The main point of being a mod. I would be there for users in need as much as possible, while not abusing mod powers [basically explained in the banned section, as abusing mod powers breaks the rules] Sometimes, people just need some simple guidance, so I would be able to respond to them while also taking care of larger problems. Sure, you can be helpful anytime, anywhere, but mod status makes you a target for assistance, and I feel I could live up to that target. #2 Dedication Put it this way- I like the server. A lot. That's why I donated money to it- because I like it. Why haven't I been banned? Because I like this server. And because I like this server, there's no way I would leave or just plain neglect my post as mod without previous explanation. However, please keep in mind that I do have a life- I can't spend 24/7 playing MC, especially when I'mare eleven. #3 Understanding Noobs, I was one of you. I've been there, where everyone is ignoring you when you ask for help. By becoming mod, I could help those who have been ignore by donors because they're greenbeans. And blah blah sentimental junk. #4 Forums I do forums. I've been on internet forums for over a year, and while that might not seem like much, it's helped me get used to the controls and almost everything else. I have indeed been on this style of forums before, and so have an idea of what to expect. I can joke around while still being focused on my mod duties, and this experience I'm typing about is what makes it so easy. Also, I'm active and stuff. #5 Humor Believe it or not, I'm not just a stick in the mud completely dedicated to helping all that is young and innocent. I'm still a kid, not even a teen yet, so I still have some life left in me. Helping others is all well and good, but sometimes you just have to let off some steam. I can do that, while entertaining others with my all-powerful grasp of the written language and comedy itself. ..Basically, I can be funny. #6 Strict Banning is a serious thing, and being easily swayed by words of "plz im sorry " won't get you anywhere in life. I intend, if I get moderator, to be firm to those who have been banned. However, being strict all the time isn't fun, so, if I find those I have punished to be truly sorry, I would unban them no questions asked. #7 No Profanity This should be a given. I'm eleven- I don't swear, curse, or *&$@^. The worst word you'll get is crap. #8 Typing Speed I type pretty fast. It isn't spectacular, but my speed is fast enough to reach most if not all Skyblockians in need of assistance. The actual reason Why should I be mod? Because I feel helping people makes the world a better place. Nothing else matters- the commands, the title, everything- moderators help. And I feel like I could help more if I were a moderator. Put it this way: I want to help. Moderator allows me to do so better than being a normal user does. What, you thought this was going to be long? How long can you be active on the server every day? Hmm, let's see here: [Please note that this is for the current school year. Schedule will change around late August.] Sunday: Church either in the morning or evening. Otherwise, pretty free. Monday: School from 8-3 if not break. I should be able to get on for 2-3 hours if lucky, at least 1 if not. Tuesday: Same as Monday, but early out, so school is 8-2. However, I have my friend over or vice versa from 2-4:30ish, so may or may not be able to get on during that timeframe. Wednesday: Same as Monday Thursday: Same as Monday, but my sister has basketball practice, which I get to skip and have 2~ hours of alone time. Friday: Same as Monday, but no homework and soccer [football to everyone else] practice from 5-6. Saturday: WEEKEND YUSSSS. 4-5 hours if lucky. Do you have any past experience as a moderator? .... Nope. I don't like answering this question, because it's true. I don't actually have any experience whatsoever moderating. Sure, I abide by the rules, be friendly and stuff, yada yada. But I haven't actually moderated before. Hopefully this doesn't dissuade Cyp and Crew from making their choice :\ Want to contact me? Send me a conversation or a profile post or message me on .net. tl;dr -IGN is MooshroomDoom, nickname Doom, real name Elizabeth. -PST (Pacific Standard Time) -Just English -Haven't been banned -Read it, please. -Again, please read it. Can't really summarize. -No past experience. :\ Okay, I'm done. This took about an hour and 30~45 minutes to type, and has 1445 words. I hope this suffices, Skyblock- feel free to comment.
