I now added part three, all about the ship and the spawner.



My name's mavidwaer, known to some and even to more since a day. The reason is my and my friends last project.



About a month ago we bought some mob spawners. The next day I had already made the mob farm in single player and one more day later I build it in our factory. Due to some arguments I had to destroy it though...

Because of the snail-like design we started to think of rebuilding it as a waterdragon or something like that in a big lake...

This was the first step towards the biggest project on our isle, filled with dreams and ideas.

*First of all, a lake! For some reason everything I build has to be epic so for more then one reason we would build...
A 100 BY 100 LAKE!!!
This enooooormous lake would cover the FULL area in which we can build on our isle! More ten that, it had to be 20 blocks deep :S
Today I started a (fundraising for our) charity goal. The goal was to build the lake (for us).
Together with players, donors and other important peeps we gathered all the needed cobble. That was the first goal but we finished the second as well! Filling up the floors, sides, ceilings, walls...
With loads of help we finished it today, I want to say thanks again!

Now that we finished the lake I can talk about the second point. Noobcrew! Can you to give me the official record for biggest lake on the server, 100 by 100 by 20??? I really want it and so does the entire crew! About 20 people helped or donated for the build of the lake. Please give it to us, we deserve it, no? I can't ask you to but to us its recognition for our labor so it would be epic!

About the second idea I won't tell too much yet but it has to do with fighting mobs in a boat who were spawned by our mob spawner, hidden in the water dragon

PART TWO: projects
A lot of (new) projects are swirling through my head and today I will tell you some.
The first idea was to build our mob 'grinder' (hate that word) in the lake and make a Loch Ness reference. For such a thing however I could have used a 20 by 20 pool so...what else?
This was my second idea: let's make a way to fight the mobs! Lets make it a challenge! An arena however wouldn't fit with the lake-image so we decided to make it a ship. It will be a big medieval wooden ship filled with skeletons probably now how do I get skellys in that boat? I know something...(hint: a skeleton pipe fits in an underwater surface of 20 blocks deep
3. We need to decorate it! We just can't have an enormous cube without a little terrain, no? That's exactly why we want to make a rock here and there and...maybe a lighthouse? It might be cool, I dunno.
The fourth and last idea atm is to hold a boat race once in a while! We set up an easy parkour and about twenty people participate, trying to reach the finish first. Sabotage allowed + haters gonna shoot arrows!

Part three: the boat
Heya, now the lake is finished we were all able to breathe and relax again. In a total of three to four hours time I made the (almost) complete design of the ship, in singleplayer. I made some real cool pictures but I was just to busy to upload them (I always do these updated from my iPod so I can't access the screenshots), they'll come, don't worry. This afternoon I spend about two hours reconstructing the ship in the lake and I got to say, it's taking shape real nice. It's the first time ever I build a ship so don't expect a masterpiece but I think this is better than average, for you to judge, later.
What about the actual arena aspect? Well, I decided to make the skellys be transported and pumped in the lower part of the ship whit all the beds. I CAN make it deeper and go for an additional floor but I'm not sure about that, it might get really thin or really ugly so yeah...I've now decided to add a counter to the pipe system, being capable of counting the amount of mobs that pass through, might be useful...
Don't expect to see the ship be ready too soon however because I have some busy weeks coming ld: You probably won't see me online too much anymore in this period.

Just make sure you don't build more than 50 blocks away from your bedrock (49 if you want to play it safe)

 

i helped by donating cobble and breaking a few blocks but its pretty massive and amazing

Pen, you gave me an even better idea! I'll hold a little competition! Everyone can make up a name, if we like it, we keep it. I don't know what my friends think of that though...

 

Would you like some help on your project? I have a lot of cobble.

 

Slayer, that's very kind but we finished the build AND the cobble collection, we still have 2 double chest of cobble and 1 of stone left...maybe later, projects keep popping in my head...

Now you mention it, we also want to make a lighthouse on a rock...I can use that cobble!

 

I'll hold a new charity goal soon but I think it will be a collect of wood...

How deep is the lake? It wouldn't be much of a lake (to me at least) if it was only 1 block deep. 10 blocks deep would be awesome.
