I don't think that there is a computer section anymore, so yea. I have 16 gb of RAM total on my laptop, I was wondering how much ram I could allocate, so it runs the best it can on my PC. I have been allocating 5 gb, but with that, shaders cannot handle it really still .-. I get over 100 fps playing mc regularly, I just want to know how much ram I should allocate to take advantage of this high end laptop. Processor Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) OS Name Microsoft Windows 8.1 Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB System Type x64-based PC SLGMichael
Thanks, that gives me an extra 10-20 fps when I lowered it down to 3GB. But I just want to be able to run these shaders with atleast 60 fps. And the 3-5GB isn't working for me.
wtf how did you get it to work, pl0x PM me a guide. Anyway try lowering it again to 2GB. You shouldn't need to allocate that much. I have 910MB allocated to MineCraft, lol.
I just lowered it to 2GB. The lower and lower it gets, the lower my fps is. I am getting 15-30 fps on my shaders with 2GB-5GB allocated, halp?!
What shaders settings are you using, this is a desktop right? If it's a laptop I cannot see it working right.
I am using a laptop, as said in the thread. [1.7.2] Paolo's Lagless Shaders [Supports All Video Cards] - Minecraft Forum - Page 7 - Page 7
I read it after I typed it, I saw highend and assumed desktop Anyway, what are your graphics settings on? draw distance needs to be on short.
It was close to $1,000 I don't get barely any difference with the render distances, I get maybe a 5-10 frame difference
I know but that 5 - 10 FPS adds up Shaders are performance hogs, not resource hogs. Lower some settings.
I just expected more, this laptop was expensive, and I thought I would have no issue running minecraft with shaders, as I usually get high fps.
