Please note this is just an idea, and I am able to take suggestions for making the idea better. Also, I do not know if some parts would be possible, I’m not any type developer of the forums..

Lots of high ranking donors these days just want to help the current mods with their jobs, cause we all know being a mod is hard these days, especially on the forums. Galaxy_Storm has posted that the mods do not want others helping out in any way shape or form. Some mods are taking up to 3 days to do the first reply (Mods, not admins, Noobcrew and CypriotMerks are the exception). More people are joining (around 5 members per day on the forums), and that means that the weight on mods is increasing with more and more bans, reports, etc.

My Idea:
I mostly want mods to see this idea since this would be for them. My idea is mods can assign a couple assistants to help them out, invitation only. Some mods are just getting too inactive (few have not been on since October) and others are just not really noticing new ban appeals (Records at 2 hours to 3 days).

Helping with Ban Appeals:
I think that the assistants could help out on ban appeals the most. Some things they could do is correct them on their format, tag the banning mod, read and reply to hidden content (I saw AppleGuyPro ask SLGMichael if he could help on my ban appeal, but another mod said that he would not need it since AppleGuyPro banned me), and ask any questions that seem unanswered and if necessary.

Helping with Reports:
There is no real way to help with the reports since there are no restrictions for people to help.

Helping in-game:
Not really anything to help here, mods usually only have to monitor and respond to chat (Ex, Swearing, Griefing, etc.) By that, I mean like mods act based on what is in the chat, like if someone says they been griefed, a mod goes to them.

Why have it:
Mods are getting lots of reports and ban appeals, sometimes can’t help out until they get to a computer. Some of us have teachers/works that would allow Cell Phones with Data Coverage to help out and go on the forums. The mods can stay more focused on the server and have the assistants help on the forums.

Again, mods please give input. This would basically only affect the forums rather than the server. I am not gearing it towards only me, I am gearing it towards people who are no were near being a mod, mostly those who made appeals and canceled them.

 

I see you mentioned 'High ranking donors', I feel this is another thread treating donors like they are x1000000000 better than non-donors. I also do not like the idea. Moderators would always pick there friends, and someone could just as easily be a power abuser and destroy and ruin many things. There are also plenty of staff on the forums all of the time, usually I am here most of the time. Also, people with the power to do this need to have a mostly clean to clean ban record, we cannot risk having power abusers with the power to do this. There are also plenty more mods besides the in-active ones. I also see a problem with the appeals. If you take over a moderators appeal as a 'Helper', you won't have the evidence to show that what they have done is true, and that is why mods have to wait to get to there computers, for evidence.

This also makes no sense, you can't help with reports, but you can get on a phone to deal with them? :s

Ok, and I ment like we can get on phones for stuff that we would be able to help with, sorry for bad wording, typed it on a Saterday night.

Oh, and I mean like correcting formats, tagging mods, not fully taking over. I left a lot out of this apparently.

We've already had an idea like this brought up a few times. Cypriot himself has said no. We have moderators. It may take a bit to get a response, but it's because we have lives and other things going on. We appreciate your desire to help, but fact is we can handle our work.
