I understand that moderators have lives, first and foremost but that's only a valid excuse if you have one moderator. .net has 38 moderators. (42 including trial mods). Now it seems like a large amount and in fact most servers have half that number, but here's the point. Half of those mods haven't actually logged in for ages. So far I'm going on 3 hours waiting for a mod to come on, this is precious time I could have spent on .org or spamming the forums posting quality threads. The issue is that these mods mostly share a timezone, 80% of them are from America or surrounding regions, not really a bad thing as that is the most active time, but for people in other regions it's just hell, this time is full of God abuse in Mob Arena, scamming and swearing, it all raises tenfold as no one is there to actually do anything. Heck I even played at 2am and there was only one mod on and that was Snoopy. I saw Ninja not even 10 minutes ago and spent all that time asking him for help, not a word and he wasn't afk. Maybe I'm just unlucky and .net hates me but I haven't seen most of the older mods actually log in and moderate for months. That's my two cents and no I'm complaining for the sake of it, this is an issue that has been happening for ages. If any .net Moderator is on in the next 1 hour please come to me I need your help.
That's exactly it though, if more mods were on, you wouldn't be so heavily burdened with so many requests.
That's how I feel Nah Thanks Ninja. For actually spending the time to help me and ban the guy who did this 3+ months ago. I'll fix it all later, I'll get an S-mod to help me fix it.
I discussed this in the post; it may be large but over half I'm going to throw 70% of the .net moderators are inactive. As much as I understand "life and school is important" half the list is full of inactive mods in fact I only see 3 - 5 regularly.
I'm only quoting you so you get a notification because I trust your opinion. Let's just say, if you're going to be inactive you have 7 days to tell an admin/make a thread in the[EDIT] You can have up to 20 days of free inactivity, after that a demotion should be heavily considered. Depending on the situation, PC breaking is an exception to this rule. The list is large I agree with that, so if inactive people get demoted and the list fills with new active staff then griefing, no. I'm not dropping hints for it and anyone who supports this isn't either, but from a players perspective the staff team is sloppy and is just full of inactive moderators who have no urge to even play MineCraft let alone Moderate a server. So if we think 1 - 7 days: You put forward that you will be inactive. (this is on the forums, no matter what happens you will have access to the forums) If you fail to let the staff team know you'll be inactive, you'll be reconsidered and demoted on the 20th day. Of course you will be checked across every server if you're a super. If you put forward your warning you have up to 20 days, if you're not back in 30 days you'll be demoted or considered. This may seem blunt and uncaring but it will sort it out, if you don't want to be a Mod, do everyone a favor and resign. That way someone who wants to help can take your place. Think of it like work, if you cannot make it in, you normally call first, having an inactive mod is like someone skipping work and not calling, it hurts the entire staff team. -- Misty correct on this if you wish; same with anyone else.
Yes its fair to say most of the mods i havnt seen once. the most active ones actually have school. Its getting to the point where i think they need to really enforce a rule like if you dont have the time to moderate, dont apply, and if you are mod, and dont have the time, resign. Because there are so many people just ruining the server with their griefing and the mods need to be around to help out. Give us a chance... the people who actually spend their time on the server helping others and generally spending so much time on this server compared to the inactive mods. demote those who havent been active in months. it shouldnt be this hard to do to get a staff who takes their job seriously. many people leave the server because they cant get the proper mod help, and thats means less people will donate to help run the server. before its too late, rethink the staff
