    Howdy there skyblockers..
I've been thinking since I filled out a Mod App that I really don't want to lose my part in the community. I don't want to have creative mode. I want to remain legit and if I were offered the Mod position, Would I accept it?

While I do mean what I say in my Mod app about helping people, maintaining order, and promoting fun and education, I think that being a mod with /give or creative mode would take the fun out of the server for me. It's happened in the past after becoming Admin with creative. No one takes you seriously as a player anymore. Everyone just thinks you spawned your items.

So my suggested solution is a Mini-Mod. This is a position I would accept without hesitation. This mini-mod would act as a liaison between the players and the Mods. The goal would be to have more Mod types to handle the easy stuff and to pass on qualified legit reports and complaints to the "Big Mods". The mini-mods would take the pressure of 250 people talking at once off of the Mods and allow them the space they need to handle the tasks at hand.

We could achieve this by giving mini-mods powers such as Kick and Ban for spammers and inappropriate skins and chat., /invsee (not touch just see) to help see who is telling the truth about trades and of course access to logblock to verify legitimacy of grief reports.

There are so many times when there is no Mod online. And when they are they are so inundated with messages that they can't seem to help everyone that needs it despite their best efforts. This mini-mod would be an easy and safe way to create more order and lessen the unpleasantness that certain immature types can bring to the already chaotic chat.

So... what do you guys think?

I don't have creative mode access and I don't have access to the /give command. By the time a mod is given those, they either don't do much legit play anymore, or they know how to separate their legit and not legit items.

Also, a similar idea has been proposed, but I doubt it would be used. People who are added to the staff are qualified for staff positions. I believe noobcrew only gives out perms based on that sort of judgment. So aside from being a modeator, the only other position would be a dev, and we have dev geniuses on our team. Anyways, the kind of trust that you are given is on a higher level than just a question answerer. It seems to me that moderator position is the line that is drawn to give people a title and permissions along with it. The only exceptions are like anon and Ravo, but that's completely different

Oh i was under the impression that Mods got those abilities. Well dang! That changes my perspective on being a Mod to a more optimistic one. I sill believe that a liaison between the Mods and players could prove very useful in the workflow of server moderation.

Yes, basically when you are accepted for mod, you are a mini-mod, in some ways. I agree with nunyabz

i agree with happilydamaged, a team of people that report directly to the mods and can help when no mod is on would greatly benefit the server. i never made a mod app because i thought it would take away from the fun of the game, however if there were a position like he described i would definitely apply for it. also i think that they should only be able to temp ban people then report it to a higher power for review. as well have the other tools that he said.

I've had my ordinaryplayer fun. Now I start my Moderatingfun. I know that being a Mod decreases your time significally, when it comes to just play to play. But I am glad to use my Modtime to help the players on skyblock. That is why I applied for Mod :)

And being a Mod does not take away the fun, it's the other way around. It makes everything so much better.
The feeling you get when you help someone and they go crazy and thank you over and over again: that is an extremely pleasant feeling
