I'll post pictures tonight, but I built a HUGE smooth sandstone castle with three levels. This thing is big enough to almost rival parts of /warp mob even, I mean. I think when we get a PvP Plugin, we could use that as the Arena. Part of me suggesting this is that I want something I built to be put to use by someone other than the island members of John's island, but the other part is "holy-crap-this-is-perfect-for-this" mode going.

So yeah, I'll post later tonight with pictures, lemme know what'cha think then. I'll try and get multiple vantage points of it.

 

I think Noobcrew wants to stay away from PvP plugins because it might cause lag, and why get a PvP plugin if it is only used on one small arena? Might as well just turn PvP off with no plugins.

Though it is big, it is boring too.

 

There's two floors inside, all pretty well lit. It's made for functionality, not prettyfulnessocity, y'know. The hole in the ceiling is purposeful for those "big, epic duels" that people like to have. Get knocked into that, and it'll hurt.

I'm not sure what I should add to it though to make it have that extra degree of deadliness, though... Redstone traps, tripwires with arrow dispensers, LAVA EVERYWHERE, cactus walls... Dunno.

 

Pvp plugins wouldn't usually cause problems in lag, not too bad anyway. The main problem with that would be the modified client users, cheating (aka using things like forcefield). Though, I've been asking crew for a while for one of these anyway, it may happen at some point.

 

From some of the media and videos people have posted, I'd say half the people on this server have or use hacks and a hacked client, and the mods/admins don't really give much thought about it.

 

Well, maybe the mods/admins don't watch those videos. Half, maybe even more than half the time, people aren't really making videos. I couldn't say though - I don't watch them either!

Well, can't say that I've seen the video, but I don't know if speedhacking is too big of an issue on a server that's about islands - all it does is move you from point A on your island to point B on your island quicker, from what I'd think. That's just me, though. Other servers, that can (and more often than not is) a serious one.

 

Like me, I have jclient installed. Don't ask why, it's a long story.
