I have a donation shop for diamond pickaxes. Because their NBT data can vary (kit pickaxe vs crate pickaxe), I am constantly mixing them up. This often results in my shop appearing 'out of stock' when it only containing the wrong type of pick.

Normally, it is easy to verify NBT data by left-clicking the sign and looking at [Remaining Trades]. But this is disabled for some reason on donation shops, which only show a "/" instead of a value. It would be helpful if this could be updated to show the number of trades remaining.

 

I kind of think that this is an oversight in server plugin design. There should not be a different nbt tag on a crate or kit or hand made pickaxe at all. It confused me as a new player and i could never understand why i couldn't sell them in the /shop. Also remove specialized tags from other common loot, like mangrove propagula.

 

I don't have an issue with the plugin design at all. There is a difference between a mangrove propagula won from a crate and one farmed by a player (even if it is still functionally the same item), but I agree it can be confusing for new players.

 

The crate items are different. Because they have a custom coloured lore for the item bame, this separates them from standard items. Adding to their value at times. Items I can think of having custom colour lores, would be diamond picks, propagules, enchant tables, beacons, bells, amongst others, each having their own custom coloured name. It increases their value slightly as they can be classed as semi rare items.

I do support having remaining trades and nbt data to be viewable when clicking a sign, free/donation chests as you say, don't show that currently.

 

I support this, likewise I also want an ability to see playertime when doing /pi <player> when people aren't online.

 

Those are very commonly given through crates, many are cheaper due to their abundance in crates, for example, if there was no diamond pickaxe crate drop, it would likely have cost 3 diamonds whenever anyone wanted one. Same with bells, bells cost more to make than their value due to loot frequency. Propagules would be a rare exception to this. But in reality my only gripe is the diamond pickaxe color in vote crates. Just change it already so newcomers don't have to scratch their head so hard.

 

Just because they are common now doesn't mean that they will be common forever.

Another thing I recently thought of was enchanted items. A non-enchanted pickaxe will require a different shop than a fully enchanted one, or one with silk touch, or any other combination of enchants. The shop plug-in certainly had this in mind when it was designed. There are many other examples of items with specific data that should be reflected in a shop.

I don't mean it in a way that plugin was written, but rather, how interaction was set up, leaving oversights and jarring elements, like unsellable crate pickaxes and more.

I had the same issue with my pickaxe shop, then realised there were 2 different nbt tags. I can't remember who told me, but you can place the items that has the nbt 2 tag in an anvil and just delete the name. When the item comes out of the anvil it will have 'nbt 1' and will be able to be sold in the shop (providing the shop was set up with an nbt 1 item in the first place )

 

Yeah, place in anvil, erase name, enter space, take out item. -> now has default name

 

woudln't it be just simpler for Admins to just fix this? =)

 

Honestly, it's just a technicality.
It's nice being able to see the difference between crate picks and crafted picks, altho it doesn't really mean anything.

 

i just have nbt data size on with a mod and its not that hard to see that on has a bigger file size than the other but also i just keep them in separate chests and give away the crate ones all the time as i have far less of them than the kit one
but it would be nice to see ether the name changed to a different colour in the crate or remove the coloured name in the nbt data of the crates entirely

but also seeing how many trades left in a free shop would be nice too instead of the /
