Similar to dirt being unable to be placed in item frames, make it so that keys or tripwire hooks cannot be placed into anvils. This is to prevent players scamming via renaming vote keys or tripwire hooks as higher rarity keys and selling fraudulently on /ah. Fairly simple.

This is already a thing for Eco at least. It makes me kinda want to obtain a renamed key lol.

You already cannot place keys in anvils or even a crafting bench.
I assumed your suggestion was to prohibit renaming tripwire hooks, which still can be renamed.

 

I'm not sure what was renamed, but laacis got sold a "legendary key" which wasn't. Whatever makes that stop happening.

 

It should be known that selling renamed items that are named after other items is already against the rules.

Very true. I'm just suggesting they make a small change to make it harder for this particular scam to take place. Dirt trade is illegal, so dirt can't be dropped or placed in /ah or player shops. Yes, there's still ways around it, but a small change in the code makes it harder to do.

 

i'm actually a little confused by my scam key. It's renamed with blue color but still italic. I didn't know color renaming is actually possible

 

Whenever I open an anvil and then click a vote key, it closes the anvil. This means that it is impossible to rename them already. The same can not be said for regular tripwire hooks. I want tripwire hooks to be unable to be renamed.
